Very true, smart thinking…but the On/off switch would!

That’s too bad, but try this guy (he should be able to help? :-

I expect your hose connection (Y piece) is fine and will work OK as before. On this occasion it may just be that the pump is blocked or jammed with something that is causing the problem right now. Take a look at the pump and get back to us OK?

The on/off door microswitch is a likely suspect then as well as the actual on/off/start switch. The module (located top right of the control panel) however is less likely to be at fault (though cannot be ruled out) as they are pretty robust on this model.
What is the ‘FD’ number shown on your machine though I wonder?
Certainly worth fixing though and I’m not sure we have anyone listed in GU land but try this link :-

Errr! The pretty picture you took was of the component side of the ‘Programme Module’, now by all means remove the 5 plastic lugs and take a picture of the green track side but I suspect that a total waste of time 😯
It’s the other board with the mains transformer on it that’s the likely problem and that’s the ‘Power Module’. After all it does supply power to the other board and if the display is blank I’m not the least bit surprised 8)
I really think at this stage though, your machine needs a bit of expert testing to be honest. Get an engineer to test the state of the motor first of all ‘cos usually they cause power boards to blow etc etc. (No point in messing with a module if the motor is duff as well 🙁 )

No my friend, invariably it is due to someone switching the dryer off without allowing it to complete the last 10 minutes of and drying cycle which is known as the final “Cool down period”.
You will notice the timer dial usually shows this as a ‘Fan’ symbol or ‘cool’ and it is very important not to overlook such in future or risk many a Thermal Fuse to blow! :lesson:

Engineer time I reckon to get it checked out. This machine has a built-in infra red sensor for dirt levels so not only is the water softener giving trouble but the water flow is also. We may have a local independant that can call and sort it for you by clicking here: –

ParticipantRe: indesit wie137s…h2o error code
Thanks for the up-date on this, no surprises on the response by the way from “the engineer” 😆
Love the “thumb over the hose” theory by the way. (If you can in fact stop the flow of water simply by pressing your thumb over (say) the end of a garden hose direct from the mains – then the pressure may well be very low indeed) 😯
In fact modern washing machine inlet valves are supposed to tolerate a variance of between 5 p.s.i – minimum(0.33 bar) and 105 p.s.i – maximum (7.5 bar). Many however fail to even work at ‘the norm’ usually set at around 21 p.s.i (1.5 bar) – a level that most nationwide water companies are obliged to provide each household that is connected to mains water!
Would it be inappropriate of me at this stage to enquire as to why you are £70 “out of pocket” on the deal……(just being nosey really 😆 )

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint DF23
The fault is that the water level system is both stuck and blocked and needs stripping and cleaning 😉
Careful attention be placed on the water level float mechanism AND the sump hose from the metering tank to the sump.
No need to DUMP because of a blocked SUMP…Ha! Ha!

Its the bloody wall socket I reckon guys 💡
Bad contact on the pins making the thing go off, cools down, power resumes. (Programme will re-establish itself after power off anyway)….Yep….take a very close look at the wall socket my friend, that’s your problem…fingers crossed 🙄

A lot rests on this mail-out as this will be the very first time that ALL independents en-masse will hear of UKW. Now response rates I expect to be somewhat dissappointing, possibly even in single figure percentages. But there will be a flood of activity in viewings to the site initially and lets hope that some stick around and join our throng.
Apathy only becomes an issue when those in the trade invest their time, effort and own money into something that falls way beyond their hopes and asperations. UKW is therefore unique in offering something for nothing, shitloads of it in fact, that should clearly tempt better participation, cooperation and unification within our ranks?
Sink or swim time I reckon ❗

When you unscrew the salt container cap, does water flow from it and into the tub?

dleh wrote:it never gets to the final drain. Any ideas why it’s doing this?
Next question then is, if at the point it stops you were to ‘reset’ the machine, does the drain pump operate normally and discharge all the remaining water from the machine in say, less than 30 seconds?

Wow!
It’s clearly not draining correctly, so either their is a blockage in the pump impellor and/or flap valve or where the end of the drain hose where it connects to wherever you have it coupled, there’s a blockage/restriction there somewhere I reckon!
