Press the ‘Search’ button within this forum for ‘Heater’ and ‘Heater Relay’ problems…..that may well be your machines problem 🙁

Oh! is that it?…have you abandoned the machine at this early stage or do you really want to get to the bottom of its problem I wonder?

hts,
I would assume the machine still does in fact have some water in it!. Best way to be sure is to lower the end of its drain hose into a bowl or bucket to drain off any water (unplug the power and let gravity take charge 😉 ) hopefully then the door will then release ❓
If not perhaps it would be best to call in an expert…we may have a local repairer in your area? Check by clicking on this link: Repairs@

Draining ‘time-out’ by the sound of it. Carefully check the pump impellor and flap valve again, there may be broken glass stuck down there (invisible in water so be careful?).
I recall to reset this model it’s a question of turning the main switch on then press and hold both the first and third buttons for up to 3 seconds, then shut the door. The machine should then drain for 60 seconds then stop!
Beyond that it will be engineer time and try our Repairs@ for a local firm in your area to sort it 😉
By the way, take my advice, never turn on machines late at night and then go to bed. Switch them on when you can keep and eye on them is sound advice and a way of avoiding the proverbial fire and flood scenario 😀

ParticipantRe: Bosch Dishwasher won’t completely drain
If the machine shares the same drain coupling as your sink, raise hose slightly to prevent any water flowing into the dishwasher from the sink!
Also remove, inspect and clean the black rubber ‘flap-valve’ adjacent the pump impellor (assuming you have an SGS/SGI series Bosch that is?)

Ah! 💡
The Water Heating Element is at fault then I would think? If the inner drum is loose on the main drum shaft (i.e worn drum bearings etc) then the drum will rub against the element and short out the RCD!

If…? You haven’t looked yet? 😀
(Scrape away all you can see and access, then start adding Calgon to each future wash or better still get your plumber to install a water softener so not only the washing machine but the entire house benefits through softened water!)

Vince,
It is the water inlet valve (and NOT the salt valve you referred to) then that’s making the buzzing noises for sure! Clearly the electromagnetic coil on it has given up the ghost and sadly a new one (Part No: 051836 – cost about £50 ish?) the only answer to your problem.
We can get one for you, simply email spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk for advice and availability.

Not really apart from ‘visual inspection’ it’s a case of plugging a new board in to see if it works….Indesit engineers call the technique “Plug ‘n pray!”

Vince O’Farrell wrote: The buzzing noise is very loud and I’m pretty certain it’s coming from the higher (LH) valve on the salt container.
The valve you describe is the ‘soft water shut-off valve’ which normally is only energised during Pre-wash and the intermediate rinses. This valve is rather insignificant in the overall operation of the machine however, and can be ignored. Having cleaned the water level system as you appear to have done quite successfully the machine should function correctly. If that doesn’t happen, then the Inlet Valve is at fault IMO.
When you set your machine onto the start of any cycle the machine should drain for 60 seconds then fill as the main circulation pump operates. Specifically, please describe to me what happens in your case?

ParticipantRe: Bosch S210 – water not being taken in – inlet valve fail
Vince,
The noise you are hearing is likely the ‘water block’ activated on the water inlet valve. As penguin45 says, the water level system will need a thorough cleaning (a torch will not show all you need to see :lesson: ) so its essential to strip and clean the entire water level system (including the float chamber unit, the ‘T’ piece etc etc).
Once that is done and reassembled, carefully remove the clear plastic tube that connects to the inlet valve and blow any water build-up back into the pipework! Pop the pipe back on and Bobs your Uncle, start loading the dirty dishes again 😆
Call us in 10 or 15 years time should it go wrong again 🙄

ParticipantRe: bosch water level
Your machine being 4 or 5 years old now, likely it could be a build-up of limescale residue getting onto the clothes? Gently peel back the lip of the door gasket adjacent the inner drum, if you spot loads of limescale behind the rubber, that could explain your recent findings 😉

ParticipantRe: Bosch DW not Draining
I don’t recognise the model number you have given? But if you read other posts on Bosch Dishwashers not draining, the advice given will likely apply just as well to your machine 😉
Clicking on the ‘search’ button may help you. 😀

ParticipantRe: Indesit W93
The ‘blond moment’ in this case is a likely Heater and/or Main Circuit Board fault 🙁
