ParticipantRe: Are there any rules about supplying service manuals?
No problem as all the manufacturers that produce such publications have been doing it for years anyway!

MrBen,
We are all too aware of the consequencies of faulty gas appliances especially in rented houses, flats and apartments. Safety is paramount and therefore can I suggest you isolate the faulty appliance and seek professional assistance from an authorised CORGI REGISTERED repairer to either repair or replace it!
Reconditioned/secondhand gas appliances should be avoided at all costs.

James,
Sadly the Door Interlock is a known weak point on these machines and it and the main circuit board could well have failed as a result. Looks like a costly excercise to rectify in all honesty 🙁

Qualtex have 2 or 3 but what is the model number as “800” doesn’t show?
Also I have a box full of assorted ‘ancient’ hoses just in case you called 😀

ParticipantRe: TDS Offline 01/2004 DVD
I think (Ken) you need to cast your eye on the TDS disc to appreciate its invaluable, comprehensive information (including re-programming etc) that is available to all in the trade. Without such information being available in this way Electrolux/Zanussi would have struggled to control the ‘service’ side of their business here in the UK. So in spite of it’s modest cost and the constant need to up-date, it’s regarded by all as the way forward.
Sadly, that has not yet dawned on the other major player in this business (a.k.a. Indesit) who believes it can control the technical side of the business single handedly within its own infrastructure. Anyone within that organisation that has access to these many pages of UKW will quickly realise just as a certain Jack Swigert said to Ground Control in Houston on April 13th aboard Apollo 13….”Houston, we’ve had a problem here!”
Each year April 13th comes around I wonder if ‘Ground Control’ Milano (and or Peterborough) will realise that their oxygen tank has also ‘blown’ but sadly in their case they haven’t produced a CD Rom to be able to deal with it…………..!! 🙄

Dragan,
The Mains Filter (086294) is often suspect in these cases of no power, a very common problem too 💡
No wiring diagrams available I’m afraid 🙁

It must be Groundhog Day?
The most common failure with these is the heater spiral connectors to their spade terminals (= new heater spirals) The other common fault is the Relay on the Power Module 😉
Beyond that, take heed the earlier comments to jclark 💡

kwatt wrote:I wonder what would happen to Littlewoods or Argos if they started charging for their catalogues for customer to buy goods?
That’s very true of the Indesit ‘Partfinder’ CD but not so the ‘TDS Offline’. As we discussed at Sibson last time, there are “terms and conditions” attached to the supply of all CD’s and DVD’s containing technical information. Licenses need be applied and adhered to for the exclusive benefit of trade users. Therefore some modest charge has to be applied and a time-out factor built in to enable much needed updates adding.
Slag off Indesit by all means, not TDS. God ‘elp us if they suddenly issued them out free in Argos or Comet with every new washing machine they sold!
(That reminds me I must save up for my new copy :rotl: )

Maybe the top spray arm column is restricted where it screws onto the sump?

ParticipantRe: Help! Hotpoint WD41 Washer/Dryer instantly tripping RCD.
Remove the motor plug, then turn the machine back on!
If it doesn’t take the RCD out, then you know its the motor brushes or armature at fault without even using a multimeter 😀
