Well at least it’s listed then, which is something I guess. Perhaps that being the case, the best option would be to contact Bosch directly (phone is best as the’re not too hot on email replies πŸ˜‰ ) and get them to furnish you with the info you need πŸ’‘

They’re virtually the same size and are just as easy to shift using this method. Are you sure you have tried that method or just humouring me? Spending way over Β£100 on the Hotpoint kit is sheer folly…….(You can have mine…only slightly used ’til I found out it was useless waste of time..for Β£10 if you like :rotfl: )

    humph,

Firstly if your water softener is supplying the dishwasher with softened water, then no need to add salt in the machine as well. Avoid liquid detergent and stick to powder or better still tablets.

Many makes of dishwashers will run happily on a hot water supply provided it does’nt exceed 65 degrees Celsius. I’m not sure if Miele machines have such compatibilty, but you might like to check that possibilty out and switched to hot fill. Hot water systems kill most algae anyway so that may be your best option. If you get the same results in the shower of the algae, chances are it’s coming from the cold water.

I would personally rule out your water softener as the source but do contact South West Water and ask if they could ‘test’ one of the damaged ceramics in their lab for you πŸ’‘

Other than that, I’m stumped on this one πŸ˜•

Sounds a bit messy but interesting stuff nonetheless, this link will show a guaranteed to work method with no need for that useless Hotpoint Removal Tool either πŸ˜€

If it is under 5 years old Hotpoint will replace the Drum Assembly complete for LABOUR ONLY (usually around Β£90) so that may well save you the hastle I expect πŸ˜€

I replaced a perished Door Seal on Tricity Bendix washing machine, the lady phoned a few weeks later to complain…..” that ever since you fitted that seal the machine leaks!” I went back and try as I might I couldn’t get this machine to show any sign of a leak. Spent ages running it through with a washload, no leak whatsoever. Customer apologised for calling me out and I left somewhat bemused.

A few days later she rings again….”please can you come back it’s leaking right now!”When I got there I found the source of the leak was not the machine at all but coming from the airing cupboard on the other side of the room, some 12 feet away!! On ‘washdays’ she does a bit of handwashing and puts dripping wet clothing on a wire clothes horse in the airing cupboard. The kitchen floor is ceramic tiled and the dripping water runs along the channel between the tiles and manifests itself in a puddle at the front of the bl**dy washing machine!!!!

Their website is just fine but I think the photo of the ‘repairman’ is a bit corny πŸ™ Just look closely at the way the spanner is added to the photo…very odd)

Hands up those guys that have used a spanner on one of those machines lately anyway???

Well you’ll need the Bearing Kit and a new two-halves tub gasket for starters. You won’t know the state of the drum shaft ’til you get it all in bits on the kitchen floor. If it also needs that shaft then add another Β£75 on the job for a Drum and Shaft assy. πŸ™

Not a difficult job for an experienced person with the right tools. Safety is the watch-word and it needs fully isolating from the mains supply before attempting access. :zap:

If you supply us with the relevant full model number details I am sure we can supply the parts needed to fix it. (Via our shop@ )
