    Re: Use Of Funds

I’ve come up with an absolute belter of an idea as to what to do with our funds……………..A RETIREMENT HOME FOR EXHAUSTED, CLAPPED OUT SERVICE ENGINEERS!!!!!!!!!!!

A place we can all go when our time has been served to the full. A spot by the seaside, Eastbourne or Torquay maybe? Sunny all year round, close to the shops, a walk on the beach maybe every now and then (if you’re up to it?) With its own communal canteen, launderette and TV lounge. Those that can still drive can park their vans in a secure compound overnight, those that can’t will have free access to electric motability machines.

Just think of the many fireside chats we could enjoy talking about how they used to make washing machines in our day……..At teatime we could flick through old twintub photo’s…..HAPPY DAYS!!!!

What of my £5 a month to UKW I thought? Now if that was invested (collectively by us all) in property in the form of the UK’s first ever WASHED OUT WASHING MACHINE WONDER HOME?????….brilliant investment opportunity OR WHAT EH?

    Just a thought :rotfl:

Re: Can’t get this bl***y range cooker out!!!!

…..I went to a DISHWASHER (about 3 years back or more now) that was next to an AGA range cooker. Now the AGA man had only recently converted the cooker to run on OIL, and instead of removing the dishwasher and feeding the oil pipe behind the machine (and make a proper job of it). He simply plumbed the pipework around the front of the dishwasher, so I could not get it out at all 👿

Sure it is, well spotted, thanks for that 🙂

……And available in many other outlets too, but we here at UK Whitegoods always advise our visitors to purchase appliances from “their local INDEPENDANT retailer!”

That way, not only will they be able to purchase the product at a very competitive price, but will also have the benefit of ‘expert’ detailed information on the product. And a company who will also be able to help with delivery, with the option of full expert installation and demonstration in the customers own home afterwards.

…or yes….one could also buy it from Currys 🙁

Re: Philips fridge/freezer – worth replacing seal? or gluin

Knowing Philips (Whirlpool nowadays) the cost of a new seal won’t be the cheaper option 🙁

Sadly, the model number you have given doesn’t show on my system? Are you sure you have given us the correct number? Was it purchased in the UK?

    MikeP,

Your trouble is indeed centred around the pump. It will require removal and closer inspection for coins in the pipework etc etc. If your machine is 4 years old plus, then likely the ‘magnet’ pump assembly will need replacing and also the entire drain hose system cleaned and checked.

Well worth calling in an expert

    cn50,

The Salt Container should be full of water at all times. As you add salt that water is the expelled into the tub through displacement of course, but that has nothing to do with your present problem!

What is the likely problem, that the anti-flood switch has tripped and not reset itself. (It’s basically a microswitch operated by a polystyrene float arrangement) This then needs close attention, however it is not a DIY job in all honesty and best left to the experts to sort it. Try to see if we have one in your area who can advise, just click below: –

Just one thing you could try meanwhile (WITH THE PLUG REMOVED OF COURSE!!! :zap: ) Is tilt the machine ‘backwards’ by about 45 degrees and give a sharp tap to the centre of the base panel (where the anti-flood is locate) to see if that releases it as a bit of crud or even cobwebs can cause it to stick 😉

Not so clever dicky….£200 quid….integrated???….Do you want one that actually works for that or just to fill a hole in your kitchen 😆

My mate Don will give you proper alternatives, listen to what he has to say on the subject, pretty soon I expect ❗

Slightly out of date?…well out of date then as they have been around a while. The Qualtex website will only play ball if you have ‘full login’ access, then you can download their monthly up-dates.

Have a word with that very nice man who knows all the angles, non other than Mr Dave Conway. Among his many talents, he is also a Qualtex agent and may well be able to fully up-date you on their product range 😉

Qualtex did produce a brilliant “CARBON BRUSH ASSEMBLY REFERENCE MANUAL” some years back (not sure if they still do? 😕 ) That glossy manual showed schematic illustrations of only 32 different brushes units but gives a full spec on them including sizes, side, top and end elevation drawings, the full monty. That gave an easy reference to indentifying the Qualtex part number you needed 😀
