To get your dryer fixed based on our assumption that the Capacitor is at fault, would cost probably no more than £60. Once again I would suggest you check if a local engineer can quote you by clicking here:
Repairs@Your choice of replacement dryers is questionable however. I would stick with the Creda/Hotpoint brand if I were you 😉

Mike,
The fault is associated with a motor connnection or circuit board connection failure. Therefore please do contact Hotpoint to get one of their engineers to investigate. Please DO NOT attempt any repairs or inspections yourself as not only is this dangerous but will invalidate your guarantee. 🙁
Please advise us of the outcome of the engineers visit, thanks 😀

Give us the full model number of this beast(on the back panel) and we can look it up for you

The black rubber hose that runs from the air chamber to the Pressure Switch will be punctured where it rubs against the outer tub. A new length of hose will be the answer!

Graeme,
If you are refering to the main cam body broken within the Timer Unit?…then the answer is no, only a complete new unit at around £160 will required!
Take care on your way to the tip as those machines are very heavy and have nasty sharp edges 😆

ParticipantRe: candy cic60 wire came off of timer unit?
Yes you have indeed got 2 of the wires on the wrong terminal of the timer to cause this 😉

“B spin rating” on a Bosch machine that spins at 1200rpm is just sales speak as being less efficient than one rated “A” able to reach speeds up to and above 1600rpm.
If you want the bearings to wear out quicker on your new machine then go for “A” rating every time 🙁 If however you want a good and efficient spinning machine that will last for years I would go for “B” for Bosch.
Perhaps also if you can stretch your budget to around £400 that will buy you a 1400rpm Bosch , also B rated but a hell of a fast spin speed, way beyond what your old machine did. 😆

In fact that kind of sums it up really in a nutshell 😉
On the one hand we have a guy that has little enough work coming in during the day that has to take on evening calls in order to make ends meet. Another that is so full of work and will not say no to evening work as well as (that guy must be earning a fortune by the way).
Another that cannot or even dare not lest his staff revolt at the idea of late night working. And finally yet another who bases his work schedule on Tesco’s opening hours…………!!!
Brilliant topic (and on a Sunday too) when we should all be in church thanking the ‘Heavenly Father’ for his bounteous goods…. :rotfl:
Let us pray…..!!!

The only effective way of degunging those is using a garden hose with a decent bit of pressure to blast them clear ❗

Doing work ‘out of office hours’ is so very unnecessary for either of you to commit yourselves doing and can easily be avoided. But I understand the point about not risking losing the job to those that do. But guys, by doing so you are entering ‘cowboy country’ by taking them on.
Tell them it cost extra for out of hours calls and they will soon make alternative arrangements to suit you, not them. Give anybody an inch and they will take a mile as well you know, and they will not want to pay any more for it either….

ParticipantRe: magnetron repair !
Paul,
Please do not bother sending us pictures of your microwave on account of the extreme danger for you simply taking off the outer case to access it. 😯
Microwave ovens store 1,000’s of volts in their capacitor even when switched off and unplugged, and tampering can easily prove fatal. :zap:
Please dispose of it carefully 😉

ParticipantRe: After 6pm calls
Doing calls after 6pm I reckon is just as bad as those the advertise “No Call Out Fee”. True enough there’s always some firm or individual that will do such things and you may well lose the job if you don’t but so what :con:
I do my best to inform my customer when I am available to call and fix their machine between 9am and 4pm for 6 days of the week. And in 99{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of calls I get, that suits them, the other 1{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} can do what the hell they like…their choice, I don’t need them 👿

If any of you are concerned over the premature failure rate of the 1701583’s why not instead replace the ‘Green Spot One Shot’ with a Qualtex (Part No: TOC26) that cuts off at 130 degs and resets at 115 degs.
Then if your customer insists on opening the door and not using the end of cycle cool down, you at least won’t have to pick up the tab for their stupidity 😀
