Like you Richard, I have taken this path before. I know what you are saying here, but we are in the 21st century now, we must move on, we will move on for the betterment (is that in the dictionary?..ah well) of our trade πŸ˜€

“Progressive future” were the words you used and “together we can do it” surely is what UKW is all about.

Stick with me on this πŸ˜‰

Please can I also add that whilst many on this website possibly have an ‘association with an association’. In my case, I am a member of the Automobile Association as indeed are many who read this. BUT if I have an issue with the AA, it’s best I contact them directly, not on UKW…if you catch my drift πŸ˜‰

    Richard,

I can answer this in one simple sentence:-

Come to the next official UK WHITEGOODS Meeting next month and some if not all of your points will be answered truthfully and sincerely πŸ˜‰

Actually we ‘Subscribers’ don’t have a secret handshake and stuff like that πŸ™‚ . Besides if we did and you shook hands with the likes of Kevin, you’d better count your fingers afterwards :rotfl: Hold up!..come to think of it, Dave Conway has a funny walk AND has his trousers half mast, perhaps that’s a sign or something πŸ˜•

    But seriously………

    Yes it comes complete πŸ™‚

Now I urged you last time to “keep the faith”, don’t listen to her πŸ˜† , buy a new valve and stick it in….end of problem. Now is not the time to go out buying new Miele dishwasher just ‘cos the dials are a bit scratched.

Besides all the new fangled machines take twice as long to do the washing up as that gem sat in the corner of your kitchen right now. Think of all the brownie points you will earn fixing it….Get a grip!!! :lol2:

    Tony,

Not quite sure what you are referring πŸ˜•

If you mean the Front Drum Support that has the nylon bearings and felt seal on, then there are 2 versions dependant on its Date Code. Early has a metal plate and Late predictably plastic πŸ™

So you need the date code on that. πŸ˜‰

    Valvo,

Keep the faith mate, they are good machines and all is not lost πŸ˜€

Certainly the Inlet/Safety Valve will be suspect and worth changing for what it costs πŸ˜‰

Stick a new valve in then check its filling process through the matrix. It should fill that fairly quickly, overflow and activate the float switch THREE TIMES to complete each fill process

    Re: Agenda Items and Invitees

The point I was trying to make in my last post was that if I get a chance this time, it will be different. Many of the ‘repairers’ cannot afford time off for a 2 day meet (me included actually πŸ™ ) So setting the agenda specifically for these guys on Saturday will hopefully encourage others to make the trip.

Now, it is important we do not discuss items that concern repairers on the Friday meet (I will be on hand to point this out to the ‘chair’ if I feel it should be deferred ’til Saturday πŸ˜‰ )

So, I personally have a number of issues I would like to discuss on the Saturday out of earshot of others. Therefore what I hope to achieve by this is for likeminded individuals to come forward and give us their thoughts on such a ‘intimate’ Saturday meeting.

Bear in mind we have less than 2 months to get an agenda sorted to pack the house out. …. oh and I would like to see John Fitz there too!

No mate, you got me stumped on that as I have no technical ifo on that model πŸ™

Does your User Instruction Book not tell you how to reset it I wonder?

If all else fails contact Hotpoint via this link I’m sure they can help πŸ˜‰

So far just 2 excellent examples of fair priced replacement parts, making our job a much more realistic and viable option. πŸ˜€

There must be hundreds of similar examples we could list and possibly even shame those manufacturers who have taken the opposite stance :lesson:

On the bottom left hand side there is a white plastic slotted cap near the pump filter. Simply twist that with a 5p coin (clockwise if I remember right) and the door will fly open…..

Re: Hotpoint DF61 Dishwasher not emptying!

Look ever more closely at the pump impellor, drain off all the water so you have a clear view of it. It should easily rotate in either direction with light finger pressure. (It’s a permanent magnet motor so you will feel the magnetic resistance but thats all)

Having establish that as clear and free wheeling, then take the end of the drain hose and give it a blow 8) It should be clear and easy to do so, if not, theres a blockage from one to the other.

Replacing the pump is tricky and I would recommend you call us in to check it out. If you wish to go the DIY route we cannot advise you further except to say we can sell you a pump much cheaper than Hotpoint charge via our own “shop@”

You don’t mince your words do you Amanda πŸ™‚

If your machine is getting these 2 error codes, they are most likely associated with a soap/limescale build-up in the pressure switch hose attached to and part of the sump hose. πŸ˜‰

Clean that and it should be fine

But please remember to pull the plug first :plug:
