Please may we be inundated with this type of customer, day in and day out 😯 …..and may we all be paid handsomely for giving them the advice they so richly deserve 😉
Most of the ‘Smart Arse, DIY fixers’ that visit this site will never pay our wages…be grateful my friend and wish for more of the same, always 😀

Good luck to you my friend on that, indeed the drum has to come out but you would be better off getting in a local engineer to do it :haier:
Check in “Directories” to see if we have a local recommended firm in your ‘Postcode District’ to save all the hassle 🙂

Why do you need a drain pump? Usually very reliable, isn’t it just jammed with broken glass or a fish bone?

The Motor Brushes are Part No 97916670 and yes, should be available in “Shop@” 🙂

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint TDL31 DEAD
Tony,
I think you are right about it being the Timer (Part No : 1701958), I have not come across this problem before but it appears most wholesalers carry plenty of stock of them, so I guess there’s a demand 🙂
When you switch it on, does the element get a feed I wonder? Or is the whole lot open circuit, if it is, then the Timer is duff I reckon 😉

Yes indeed, most likely the Motor Brushes have worn and need replacing 😉

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WMA37 motor not turning
Neil,
The WMA37 has no less than 3 different motors fitted depending on its production date. It could be a FHP, Bosch or Ceset Motor fitted 😕 generally the wiring connections are similar in layout. Usually Terminals 1 & 2 are the Tacho, Terminals 3 & 4 are the Field Windings, 5 & 6 the Armature and Terminal 7 the Half Field Tapping.

ParticipantRe: creda reflection door wanted
Alec,
It looks doubtful, I have checked through 2 major wholesalers and they both list it a ‘Special Order’. That means they would have to order it direct from Creda anyway. 🙁
The Part number reference by the way is 6101651 at it should cost around £65 plus VAT and postage costs ❓

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint WMA37 motor not turning
Neil,
Not knowing what type of electrical test you have carried out (i.e What type of meter you are using). And assuming the Motor and Heater, are OK as far as you can tell, then it must be the Control Module at fault ❓ (Part No: 1604321 cost around £70).
Ideally both the Motor and the Heater require a 500volt earth leakage check first to be sure, as it is not that common for a Control Module to fail on its own account 😕

If it’s Mercedes, then it’s Blaupunkt surely I would have thought 🙂
However, I didn’t realise that system you had Kevin would work on other information keyed in rather than Postcodes??
Are you saying you can key in for example “Dunroamin, High Street, Crapsville” and it will guide you there???
