    Re: Philco Manual

    Miss E,

I spoke with you earlier today but your mobile phone cut out part way through our conversation 🙁

However, you may be able to obtain a copy of the manual by checking out this link that I have previously posted here. (Philco is part of the Indesit/Ariston Group by the way, so look under that heading 😉 )

Also as Dave suggests, you let us have the Model Number of your machine (usually written on the R/H/Side of the Control Panel) and we may be able to look it up for you ❓

Almost all homes in the USA and Canada have basements, many also have ‘bulkhead doors’ leading to the ‘back yard’ through which many large articles such as whitegoods and furnaces can be brought in without going through the house.

Sadly in Strickson’s case, access through his bulkhead door was not possible due to the debris from the errant appliance, bleach, vomit and dog urine 😆

    Tony,

It was a TOP LOADER !! (as most are in the States anyway).

    However the story continues…..

When Strickson’s wife returned home to find all the neighbourhood surrounding the house. The police having cordonned off the road by this time to allow the ‘mortician’s’ hearse to take away the coffin. The coffin would not go down the basement steps, which meant they had to carry poor old Strickson up in a black bin liner. Sadly, they didn’t tie the end of the bag and as they got halfway up the steps, poor old Strickson slipped out and tumbled down onto the basement floor.

In doing so, his lifeless body struck the nervous dog, who leapt up in fright and bit one of the morticians men. He crashed into the light switch and in total darkness everyone lost their footing and fell headlong down the stairs.

A policeman at the top of the stairs dashed down to try to help, in doing so his ‘sidearm’ got caught against the side rail and let off a 38 calibre shot. The shot punctured a propane gas cylinder and as the gas was escaping, unwittingly, one of the morticians men lit his cigarette lighter in the hope of finding his way through the darkness????????

Little is left of Strickson or those that tried to help him 😆

    curryman,

Without question your first option would be to look at the Miele range of machines. Pure quality in a metal box, and quiet too. 😉

Bosch or Siemens a good second best I reckon, several models to choose!

    Cornflakes,

Looking up the model/serial number for you and the actual Part No comes up as C00093153 for a Module (less Eprom).

Why don’t you contact EMW for advice on this? I bet the Motor is shot and blew the Module anyway ❓

    Paulnic,

From what you have told us, very soon you will need a new pump as you are simply relocating the impellor. When that time finally happens, please give us the FULL model number (on the back) of your machine, so we can sort you out a replacement(there are 3 versions of pump fitted to that range) 😉

    Good Lord!, thanks DP 🙂

For all the combined systems we have in place the power of UKW strikes again. 🙂

The belt should have “1250J5” stamped on it somewhere I guess:wink:

    (Must up-date my system now 😯 )
