It’s the inlet to the main circulating pump and with a torch and angled mirror you should see inside to make sure there’s nothing blocking the impeller. If that impeller is blocked that could account for the fill-drain problems because when the diaphragm switch operates that pump immediately fires up and any adverse ‘back-flow’ of water would trigger the drain pump/float microswitch.

It’s interesting the reference to parasites and charlatans but what exactly is the difference between businesses like D&G, 0800 & Repaircare etc advertising online to take chargeable customers out of the market? Offering extended warranties or fixed cost repairs then passing them out to local engineers on contract rates compared to others that advertise online that ‘Hoover’ up work and pass it on to engineers who otherwise would have little or no access it getting this work anyway?
D&G, 0800 and Repaircare are well established and somehow accepted but nevertheless operate in the same area as those referred to as parasites. I’m not sure the smaller outfits like the OP should be judged quite so harshly. On the contrary their motives appear laudable in many respects and should be given the space and opportunity to prove their worth.
Many indies are crying out for work, constantly moaning that business is so quiet. They above all others will be no doubt grateful for the extra work however, wherever or whoever gives it. Let’s be nice for a change and give those offering it, like the OP, a fair chance to advertise their services.

I just checked Jim and it appears both Pnc variants use the aqua stop in hose system.

It could be a very small leak to earth of the heating element.

The only reason for it filling/draining/filling /draining is due to the water being restricted from entering the tub. Now the microswitch attached to the diaphragm you illustrate controls the fill. The float microswitch alongside operates the drain pump. And it is that float bobbing up and down operating it’s microswitch that gives you the effect you experience and not the diaphragm microswitch. I am convinced there is a restriction in that transfer pipe or perhaps the fine mess drain filter in the tub is silted up causing back flow of water?

As you’re probably are aware, elements can heat to a point then go open circuit so you cannot rule out the element being faulty. Thinking about it, a PTC being faulty would more likely cause overheating rather than underheating. So the options are: faulty element, TOC or connections.November 5, 2015 at 9:19 am in reply to: Hotpoint Dishwasher Aquarius DF62 Diaphragm Question. #432242Martin

The transfer pipe between the fill matrix and the sump is blocked. The part you refer to is working as it should.

All I’ve been given is U15E42NOGBOh I see, then you don’t know for sure that the element is OK either.

Yep PTC (positive temperature coefficient) mean the probe yes. :yup:

The PTC the most likely I would suggest.
