Re: Just saw my former sales rep at Connect

You can’t blame him. After all traipsing around the country in a Mondeo trying to flog a few dozen pumps and a grill element to grubby blokes in back alley workshops must be challenging. Far better a warm showroom where customers come to you I’m sure.

Just gotta make those end of the month sales targets, that’s all! 😀

10 quid for a S/hand Askoll pump and 8 for a double valve is a trifle expensive. 🙁

Motor fault. Drag it out then check the motor brushes. Probably worn down and need replacing.

Oh come on guy, you bought a washing machine not a garden statue. It’s a mechanical device that endures the stresses and strains, use and abuse. Mechanical devices by their very nature can break down, at any time. The price you pay has no bearing on how, when or why it fails.

You, like thousands before you, quote the ‘Sale of Goods Act’ when things go wrong. Go read it again, then realise you are up the proverbial creek.

Give your local guy a bell to get it sorted, that dirty washing is building up behind you! 😉 😀

The control module (00498022) comes out at just £74.84. Even with the exchange rate in Euros comes no where near the rip off price you quoted.

    Re: Smelly Washing Machine

The complex array of drain pipes, the unsupported and sagging pipe in the corner and the lengthy pipe from dishwasher to sink has to be the source of those unpleasant smells. Not the washing machine itself, you can rule that out!

My nearest DASA member is 59miles away. I wonder if they do same day free call out?

So maybe it was steam you saw and NOT smoke? A blocked or restricted vent pipe with create…… steam 😉

Re: Is my tumble dryer ruined

The noise could well be the drum seized and consequently the motor burnt out. If the smell was of burning rubber then the drum seized and the belt broke. Smell of burning shellac and the motor is a gonna. Either way only by going in to look what’s happened will that stop us guessing.

The “started to smoke” is a concern. With the dryer removed from the vent hose and switched on, will it run?

Access to the pump is clearly shown in the user manual. Carry out that procedure then, if the problem persists, please feel free to call back. 😀

Re: No Light & No Power Washing Machine

The motor brushes have failed and could have taken the circuit board with it. The full model number (ENr no) is on the inside of the door.
