Re: Surge protectors on fridges and washers – useful?

Unless of course you live in the Iberian Peninsula or on the Balearics? Most sparks there fit surge protection devices to the consumer unit. A natural precaution there due to fluctuating power levels and lightning strikes :zap:

    Can’t be too cautious! 😉

Here’s the part number you need- 00611332. Make sure you buy it direct from the Siemens website. Just 26quid. (Other suppliers are available but charge a lot more).

If you need step by step fitting instructions then just give us a call. NO CHARGE 😀

Your comments continue to highlight the fact that you are totally unqualified to be attempting to fix your daughters dishwasher. It is of paramount importance safety procedures are applied and not having a multimeter (gizmo), a basic necessity, prove how ignorance can be a danger both to yourself and those around you you hold so dear.

Seimens SN25 M830 UK Dishwasher Error E23 Urgent help

I suggest your daughter call out a local repair company to resolve the issue. Advice on these forums are given on the assumption those seeking it have sufficient electrical knowledge and competence in order to safely repair appliances.

Try isolating the supply, reconnect the TOC/elements etc then Megger again. (Unless of course the TOC itself has an earth fault? 😉 )

E15 = water in the base tray. Tilting machine would possibly cause water getting into the main circuit board. Creating yet more problems. 🙁

E23 is indeed a drain pump resistance error but I would suggest you check that resistance first before replacing the pump. Resistance levels should read 82 Ohms.

DIY is such fun isn’t it.

Ah yes, the ethos of ISE, it almost sounds like the title of a poem by Rupert Brooke.

    Re: AO oh no!

I was referring to ALL white goods brands they sell in direct competition with DSG, AO, Uncle Tom Cobbly and all. They don’t have stock holdings but rather sell them using their ‘service partners’ (i.e. The various manufacturers and import agents). I wasn’t referring to their own branded goods.

Perhaps John Lewis operate the best system. Flogging white goods they don’t stock themselves but use ‘service partners’ and take a slice of their profits instead.

Strange indeed Les but Havant is an odd part of Hampshire. Just fire up your Megger then come back and tell us what it was. I’m guessing heater, or perhaps it’s a tad damp in there somewhere? 😉

In guessing you don’t possess a Megger. Otherwise you would easily suss out a potential earth leak.
