Change the heater Twicky. The element should read infinity. What are you like eh? 😉

You got me there. Not a scooby as to the fault. New one on me for sure.

njbi wrote:So I have three questions:
1) Is there a test that would distinguish between a physical problem in the valve and the main circuitry?
2) Is it worth shelling out £27 for a new valve and solenoid, given that I’m only half-convinced?
3) is there anything else I should check?
1) Only by check for 240 at the valve
2) But it worked before the building work so don’t waste you money just yet.
3) I did suggest checking the heater earlier 😉What you may not fully appreciate is that the modern washing machine ‘interrogates’ it’s own circuitry before it starts a cycle. If a wire is off or any component (heater, motor, pump, valve etc) are not connected then the ‘Maintenance LED’ warns the user a fault has been detected. It is only natural to assume because it isn’t filling the fault lies there but that might not necessarily be the case!

For an error code the Start LED should flash both Red & Green alternately. Count the Red flashes (first digit of error code) then the Green (2nd digit of error code). 😀

You didn’t mention the pump inlet (sump) hose. Have you checked that?

You’re not wrong there. Google search : FA safeguarding children template, huh? The WTA must be branching out I guess.
Forgive my asking and I’d best pass on the subject. Thanks anyway! 😀

Sorry Tim but I’m more confused than ever. Where on the FA web site are there any “templates”?

Doesn’t sound good. Does it spin Ok empty? BSH might want to look at this one so best not fiddle yourself. 🙁

The magnet pump accessible at the front via bottom panel removal. Bayonet twist fit removal.

E:09 refers to the motor triac on the PCB. The motor would be the obvious cause.

ParticipantRe: Which Fridge Freezer?
If you can squeeze a little more to £390 then Liebherr is the solution. 😉
The bad news for you is that it isn’t frost free though. We in the trade love frost free because they break down constantly and we profit from their weaknesses. Conventional frosted are cheaper to run and far far more reliable, oh yes! 😀

A closer look at the heater and thermostat would be your next move. (Access via front panel removal.) I don’t believe it is the timer at fault (at this stage anyway) because the timer drive switches off during the heating phase and relies on the thermostat to advance it to the next stage (which you are doing manually right now). Timer most probably OK I would think.
Let us know how you get on. 😀
