Re: Looking for a powerful upright for pet hair – advice?

Sebo far outclasses the Dyson on almost all counts except when dealing with smelly dogs and their hairs. To clarify I mean that the Sebo has a dust bag which only gets emptied when full whereas the Dyson you can empty after every use. Pet hairs stored in a vacuum cleaner stink. Storing the vac under the stairs makes the cupboard stink. Using it with a stinky part filled bag and you spread the smell everywhere.

The bag less noisy, less reliable Dyson means you have the yucky task of emptying the container. Straight into an outside wheelie bin the best option. So at least you rid the house of the smell.

The Dyson may just be your best option. I would never choose a Dyson over a Sebo but then again I don’t have any pets. 😉

It does require a new water valve to rectify. If you post the full PNc number of your machine (9??????????) shown on the serial number plate we can provide the correct part number for you.

Re: ZWF1440W intermittently won’t start any warm/hot cycles

You’re going to have to pull it out and check that heater, the most likely reason it’s playing up. Any breakdown in its insulation it will screw up the electronics by misbehaving in the way you describe.

I’m sure you can enlighten us on your viewpoint by being a little more specific?

It is my understanding that their courses are very comprehensive and reasonably priced.

My first thought would be an earth leak on the elements. What have you checked so far?

Decimal point error and will only come to light when your credit card bill comes in at the end of the month. 🙁

It’s good to read that the art of ‘fettling’ still holds out in the appliance repair trade especially when it comes to brush replacing. 🙂

120mins of football and not once did they have any shot on target let alone on goal. Well done Huddersfield all the same.

cacaolat wrote:So to search for the new timer I just search for a thermostat for my model ?

I’m suggesting that as you’ve changed the heater with new and yet it still doesn’t heat then the likely cause is the timer. The timer is very expensive to buy new so to even consider the expense I would advise you check it out first.

To help with that : On a cottons wash cycle does the machine go through the entire wash/rinse/spin and turn off OR does the timer knob appear to stick during the wash part of the cycle and stay there?
