Please supply us with the FULL model number (ENR number) shown on inside of the door.

ParticipantRe: Element replaced , not working, different
The element you’ve fitted is for the later production model that includes an integral NTC. Using the element is fine but you are advised not to connect those orange wires to it but leave them connected to the external NTC.
The later element designed to fit the models with an all electronic timer (aka module). Yours, the earlier version has a conventional electro-mechanical timer fitted. And that is probably why it doesn’t heat it that that timer has failed rather than the element IMO. 🙁

ParticipantRe: Digital Service Cover Ltd ?
Threads on the company abound all over the shop. (The Rumour Mill comments most)
Google reviews on them more enlightening though. Not to be confused with companies with a similar name. 😉

There’s not a key symbol above the temperature display is there?

cornwell40 wrote:Does the small pcb mounted at the rear of the main control this or does the feed come from the main.
I think it’s the same as the Bosch WVD series where the smaller piggy back PCB controls the element and the dryer valve.
I’m curious to know if the user first complained of the load coming out hot and steamy? That being the case then the valve failed BEFORE the top stat tripped if you catch my drift?

ParticipantRe: Siemens oven won’t heat up
Sounds like the fan element has also taken out the circuit board? Ouch! Expensive 🙁
Let’s hope this model carries a 5yr guarantee.

ParticipantRe: Neff U1421N2GB/02 Oven only heating up to 180 deg
Not the terminals but the switch contacts under the rotary cam. If those copper contacts look black a new selector switch should be fitted.
Incidentally it is not unknown for a new element to be faulty. But the only way to be sure is to check its continuity after the point it stops heating. (Not something to be recommended as it involves having the oven on a test bench and then fully isolated from the power supply before checking :zap: )

That’s odd as the user booklet shows a Door Switch 😕
snoopzster wrote:Am i right in thinking all modern ovens will have a safety cut off switch like the manual says which will cut off the fan and element when the door is opened?
A good many free standing type cookers like yours do have that system yes.

The door switch on the right hand side probably sticking. Press it in and out a couple of times may do the trick. It’s Sunday by the way and with the best will in the world Hotpoint’s email support staff have the weekend off! 😉

The fan oven selector switch will have burnt/blackened contacts. Replace that selector switch.

It could be that the heater is faulty. Typical symptoms of a duff heater.

ParticipantRe: Guidance on premature failure of replacement bearings
A liberal dosage of hi speed grease wouldn’t go amiss especially between the water seal and front bearing. As my colleague commented the drum shaft and collar look in good shape.
For the bearings to fail so soon could possibly be attributed to an imbalance in the actual drum. Corrosion build-up within the 3 arms no matter how seemingly minor it appears can cause the drum to be fractionally out of balance putting greater strain on the bearings during high speeds. So a good clean up and close inspection of that support is advisable.
