ParticipantRe: hotpoint heaters
I can see nothing escapes your observation skills Wilf 😉
To help you out please give us 2 examples of heaters that typifies your concern, ideally with Hotpoint part numbers for easier cross-referencing. 😀

Yes with a sock stuck in there you’ve got problems. The drum access extremely limited as it is a welded drum. If the sock is visable through the holes you may get chance to remove a drum baffle/lifter and extract it that way. Or removing the sump hose and fishing it out using wire from a coat hanger. 💡
Best of luck!

Overloaded? Then my guess is a sock or something has slipped between the outer tub and inner drum and the drum has seized as a result. Check to see if that is so before fitting a new belt.
In cases where the belt burns out as severely as in the photo it could also mean the motor could also burn out. Although if the latter were the case the trip or fuse would go.

ParticipantRe: Electrolux paint colours(white)
hopper wrote:Has anyone out there any idea of the actual colour white that Electrolux seem to have used for years on most of their white goods?
Far too many variants here and no specific solution. Products produced across dozens of plants around the globe cannot all use the same paint pot. A washing machine produced 10 yrs back in Italy won’t have the same RAL number as one made today in Poland.
If there were such a standard colour produced worldwide it would in time age in varying degrees given the environment it is kept in anyway. UV light pollution and exposure to varying humidity levels both play their part in bright whites going grey, plastics going yellow.

ParticipantRe: Neff Double Oven Tripping Electrics
One or more elements are at fault here. To establish which one requires testing each with a 500vdc insulation tester (often referred to as a Megger).

Had you visited the retailers premises with your request all your disappointment could have been avoided. It’s just a perfect example that online buying doesn’t always deliver.

ParticipantRe: want spares, Try Amazon !!
Yes at just £1.50 per week (equivalent) Amazon Prime serves well toward swift next day stuff you need cheap but, at the same time, in a hurry. 🙂
If you ain’t Internet smart these days then it’s gonna cost ya!

It should tumble at that point so I suggest you check the motor for worn out carbon brushes.

Megger those heaters, any earth leakage and it goes AWOL.

It is factory preset, it cannot be altered. Unless you can interrogate the hardware to alter it you’re stuck with the inconvenience of have to select a separate spin.
You may be interested to know though that Indesit felt a ‘quick wash’ cycle such as this was designed to wash fabrics that would otherwise be damaged by a faster spin speed, apparently. 🙂

ParticipantRe: Anyone had a Indesit Linear Pressure level switch apart?
We tried to explain to you on one of your previous threads that adjustment of that analogue pressure switch is not possible. It is controlled and set electronically by the program module. The magnetic coil within measures the inductance preset by the PCB microprocessor. Interfering with it will render it useless.
