You may be thinking of the WTA4007 model?? Gorenje type machine?? Yes the front panel can be removed and as you say the facia has to be removed too and can be a bit tricky not to pull all the wires from the switches! 🙂

Check on the WTA3100 that the fan has not come loose in the heater box, very often the retaing nut falls off and the fan spins on the shaft.
Any sign of wear or damage and the fan will need replacing, I always refit a ‘Nylock’ type nut to stop the problem re-occuring.

    Re: repair own machines !!

I won’t touch anything I don’t know about these days as I too have learnt some hard lessons over the years.
I won’t get involved in other manufacturers machines as I have no knowledge of the new stuff, Obviously due to my contract with my employer I wouldn’t be allowed to and I respect that. I have several local ‘Independants’ that I recomend if some propositions me for a repair.
I’ll repair my old Hotpoint and thats as far as it goes!! My other machines I can book to warranty and get one of my collegues to repair as I don’t cover the area I live in!! 🙂

    Hi
Remove the lid and you will see some screws that attatch the side panel, one has nylon bracket too, remove these.
At the rear, remove all the screws retaining the panel you wish to remove.
At the front, remove the plinth for vented dryers or tne Condenser flap for Condensers and you will have another 2 screws to remove.
The side panel should now be lifted upwards and out.
    Hope that helps.

    Re: Appliance repairs on YOUTUBE

He has missed out an important point that I know many of us say when on Public Forums and that is UNPLUG the appliance before attempting any repair 😡
Perhaps he should explain to everyone the importance of safety testing the appliance before and after any repair as we have to do with an insulation tester??
YOUTUBE is a great and wonderful thing but offering DiY advice on anything worries me as the liability is endless.
Lets hope no one gets hurt eh? 😕

as usual, a balanced and open conversation involving all sectors 😯

when are you gonna get it? i ve said it before and ill say it again… i know what you think of comet engineers, and thats fine

of course im sure theres nothing you struggle with at all, and you write nothing off?

honestly, i do wonder why i bother

I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to cause any offence, it was NOT meant as a personal ‘Dig’ but only as a light hearted joke.
There are good and bad in all sectors of the trade but i’m not sitting here to poke fun at anyone, ultimatly we all strive for the same goal.
I work with at least 3 ex Comet engineers and they are damn good engineers who I have the upmost respect for. There is NO shame in working for Comet.
Again sorry for any offence caused.

    Re: Haier products

The retailer I reffer to begining with ‘C’ apparently has no warranty and/or service with the manufacturer and they have to use their own repair service to put them right but the machines get BER’d for the tiniest of things like faulty brush holders, perhaps the machines are cheaper to purchase than a new set of brushes 😕
The boards are potted (sunk in resin) so no hope of repairing them….

I have to agree with you on that one Chris 🙂
I do think the major retailers have got too much of a stranglehold on the market, they seem to have the manufacturers by the b@lls on it all.
I was ‘told’ that a certain retailer is purchasing Haier washers at £28 a piece, Surely this cannot be correct???? 😯

    Re: Neff dishwasher

It depends obviously on the model and age, but if it is an old SMS type machine (heater visable inside) its more than likely to be the loom where it comes into the door, if so it may need a new loom/harness. Also check the door switch as they have a bit of a reputation for failing on the early ones.
If its a later one with the Instantanious water heater its less likely to be the loom, if its a later electronic type I would suspect a dry joint around the soldering to the transformer on the module.
    Hope this Helps

Re: Bosch water fill light problem

If the machine is put into the service test programme and the flowmeter/impeller jug is faulty E3 will be displayed between static fill/fill dynamic and will not wash, instead it carrys on filling untill the safety level is reached and drain pump is operated, usually the customer hears a banging noise as the machine repatedly fills and empties.
Obviously this one will be covered by manufacturers warranty but if you need to know the service test programme, give me a shout! 😉

I would have to agree as brushes/condition of armature being the first check.
Sometimes I have had dry solder joints around the motor relays at the power module on these over the years.
Could also be the pressure switch as they are electronic on some of these.
    Hope that helps 😉

    Re: Haier products

The washing machine motors aren’t too clever either, the brush holders melt on the welling motors after a couple of washes and then stop displaying Err7. The motor is of similar design to the old Ariston Margarita.
I have got a list of fault codes for these Haier washers should anyone need them 😉
The cabinet is similar to the old Aristons but the tub is like a GIAS thing….
