hey, thanks for the help guys, i followed the link to AWS, they promptly advised me to call GDHA – 08448153745.

It seems these are the one that stock Lamona parts 🙂

Lets hope my diagnostics was correct now!

hey, great, thanks for the insight.

I thought, pressure system, tacho, brushes, PCB or loom to blame 🙂

customer says the m/c was intermitten fault, but now it ceases to spin at all, that adds up to the brushes i think.

I will post my findings when i call with set of brushes. Thanks again

I went to a cooker the other month that was ‘playing up’, to find that one of the rings was below 1 meg and it hadn’t tripped the RCD.

The oven wasn’t working properly, was the reported fault.

Her ex- had installed it and connected the brown to the blue and the black to the red wires – see http://www.flickr.com/photos/pigpen4/5409598165/

I think she was very lucky!

I had this exact fault few weeks ago. It suprised me that the machine worked at all, but almost everything was ok apart from the fan oven cutting out after a few seconds. Madness

Come to think of it, i remember not being able to find the s/n myself.

Re: Fridgidare faulty under 12 month warranty – Who to repla

Hey thanks for the advice guys….

I am not a retailer (well , i guess i am of sorts!). I purchased the machine from a retailer (Bennetts) at trade price and deliver/install it for the customer.

After contacting bennetts with my problem they said that it would be them that would do the exchange. Although they were yet to hear from frigidaire.

It seems the problem is with the machines serial number (or lack of!). The agent that called on behalf of frigidaire deemed the machine BER. However Frigidare (after i phoned them) say that because the agent failed to locate the s/n things were being held up.

I guess the problem is out of my hands now, but it has not done my relation with said customer any good! They are still without a machine and still without a date of expected replacement. For me to ‘help the customer out’ and temporarily give them a replacement, i will have to buy the machine 🙁

Bennetts can do nothing until frigidaire give them the go ahead. frigidaire can not do that until an agent gives them the s/n, and apparently this machine doesn’t have one.

Meanwhile Mr Gray has to put up without having any F/F.

After fitting the re-con board, customer now complains drying cyle is not heating, although original problem has not re-ocurred.
Drying element was O.C. and so was the one shot stat! Grrrr!

hey guys, thanks for the advice.

I re-fitted the PCB after cleaning and asked the customer to report back…. unfortunately it was still faulty… EMW it is!

Seen the LG PCB’s? They lacquer the whole lot in about 5mm of glue!!!

Go careful there, Micky. Dating a woman who has an oven thermometer is definitley likely to lead to trouble. 😆

Ah no not the oven owner. A gal she works with staying with her because of the snow. She was trying to fix us up lol

    Re: Hoover 8kg sensor dry T/D – HNV380-80 – pauses during cy

had another look at this, machine works for 5/10 minutes, then pauses. Once it has failed, the only program i can run is ‘freshen up’ which has no heat (as intended)

Any other program selected will instantly (after the briefest jerk of the drum) pause again. Makes a clicking noise.

Am ordering PCB module and sensor (one with the two skinny black wires).

will report back when i have fitted and worked out which was at fault.
