Thank you for your input to this dead thread Rosco.

Future readers please note that the appliance should be unplugged before any action is taken. The procedure described will drain a leak into the undertray by pouring the water onto the floor. The leak must then be traced and repaired.

    Regards,
    Penguin45.

Sounds like a Smeg code, Andy. E7? Flow detector not detected – not surprising really as it’s rarely fitted……… Try the Smeg reset, see if that’ll do it.

Check the pump and its circuitry. If out of circuit, the module will not power up. Also check inlet valves (64 ohms each).

Power off – there is power to the pump if the machine is plugged in.

You have almost certainly blown the switching mechanism for the oven contained in the timer unit.

Timeout on drain. Your machine has a blockage, most likely an obstruction in the drain pump.

Power off if investigating further, or click the link below for an engineer.

Re: F&P MW051-U Diag procedure and fault codes please.

    To enter Diagnostics:
Power on at socket, off on machine. Press and hold “Wash Temp Down”, then “Power”. Yours is a phase 2 machine, so press “Advance” once. From there, use the spin buttons until “Hold” and “Slow spin” leds are lit. The pattern of lights on the wash progress board will now indicate any fault in binary code, from right to left.

The “timer” will have broken internally and will need replacing. Please post full model number and serial number for your appliance – there are early and late timers fitted to this one model.

Fan motor problems Benji. It’s the only moving part not used in the wash cycle.

    Power off if investigating further.

    Re: LG Washer dryers

What is it that you don’t like about the Bosch? A perfectly adequate machine with a 2 year guarantee. The Zanussi machines again are adequate, perhaps not as robust as the Bosch.

LG doesn’t tend to get mentioned much in these forums as it is relatively low volume. The brand is not particularly popular amongst the independent trade as LG does not have its own service network and this causes all sorts of issues. From your perspective, parts are expensive. If they haven’t got them, they’re a long way away and you’ll wait a long time.

Buy the Bosch – you know it make sense.
