Buy either of them and you’ll finish up on christian name terms with your repairer……..

How about the Bosch SGS43T52 at £249.95? 2 year parts and labour warranty is attractive, extended warranty available if required.

Re: WMA 20P replacement Drum /bearings

We’re getting to an interesting point with these machines. My personal opinion is that they’re junk. You can fill them with nice new parts, and they’re still junk. Now that they’re hitting the 5 year mark I take great joy in giving the death rights. Replace with a Bosch and NOW (deep and profound joy) we will be able to offer the UKW “X” machine – a whole life solution.

So let’s stop worrying about these and look forward to a better future, yes?

Yup, PM the addy and I’ll sort it. BTW superglue and a thread binding on the step works a treat as well – not had one re-fail 😀

Danish oufit, have been making Comet’s “quality” range for many years. Wasn’t aware of them selling “own brand” in the UK.

Model number is located on the inside of the filter flap, it begins with M and 4 digits. The same info is on a label on the rear upper casing as well.

And yes – it is crucial to fault finding, especially on the Servis range of washers.

3 different UK versions, fortunately all use the same board. P/no for computer board is 264877, £97.53 plus p+p plus VAT. Order from http://www.bshappliancecare.com.

Be absolutely certain of the diagnosis as they will not accept it back under any circumstances.

You’ve got a short somewhere Simon – the heaters do blow occasionally, but you’re going to have to check everything. These ones don’t seem to do the broken wire in door thing, so it’s got to be a component failure. Motor and heater are the only things that draw any real current so start there.

    Re: Which Fridge Freezer?

If you have a run through the Mistral threads in the Refrigeration forum, you will notice that the thermistors fail with alarming regularity and the boards occasionally. 3 in 12 months? I don’t think so……. Also, bear in mind that if you go for a new Hotpoint, you’ve still got the same engineer looking after you……..

Like a wardrobe door! Remove two screws from soap box surround, 3 bolts around the door opening, spring clip in the filter opening and Bingo!

Qualtex used to supply a “screw-and-glue-in” rubber cuff for just this circumstance. Dave_Conway will be able to advise you more fully when he spots this.
