Off down Beale Street? Supposed to be a bit like Rose Street (Edinburgh – the other place) – lots of watering holes. Enjoy.

    Re: creda ecosense dryer doesn’t

    Paul,
The auto-dry function works by a comparison of input temperature and exhaust temperature. When the clothes are wet, the air is hot when blown into the drum. The clothes being cold and wet will absorb lots of heat as they warm up, so the air exiting the drum will be quite cool. As the cycle continues, the exiting air will get warmer as the laundry warms up and water is extracted from the laundry. By disconnecting the front sensor you have created an “infite” resistance – if the clothes are almost (but not actually) dry, it would point to the board not interpreting the information properly. As Martin said earlier, not a cost effective repair.

Plus point is that newer “sensor” dryers are rather more sophisticated in the way that the sensing circuits work and are more efficient.

This is the digital machine with the hybrid power board in the bottom. The fault almost certainly lies there. Check Dave’s points first, if all clear this your problem.

Due to the age of the machine and the component cost, you may want to think twice about having it repaired!

IIRC, 1st led flashing (from the left) is undertray flooded. Pull the plug and lean the machine backwards to see if water runs out. If you’ve still got the crockery in, remove it or you really WILL be in trouble when it breaks.

Opening the door stops the circulation, the water which was “up the pipes” comes down into the base of the cavity and on Indesit machines can be enough to overflow into the base. Water level control on these machines is notoriously critical – so, assuming this is correct…………….. Don’t Open The Door!

    Jason,
It sounds like a dodgy socket TBH. The computer will reset every time the supply is interupted, so it will never get anywhere. Try connecting to a different socket if possible. If using an extension lead, make sure it’s rated at 13amp.

New Wave Plus 5 is a generic – please supply the actual model number of the appliance. Check around the door opening.

Re: Bosch sgs 3042GB dishwasher -water not circulating?

Yep, drain pump and circulation pump. After approx 1 min of fill, you should hear the circulation pump cut in. If you can hear the pump running but have no circulation, the machine is underfilling (a common problem with this range). A faint humming noise would indicate that the pump is jammed or that the start/run capacitor is no longer kicking the pump into action.

If you’re going into the machine, pull the plug first. :plug:

A very common problem with these appliances is no heat, causing the programme to hang. This is usually caused by a dry joint on the printed circuit board.

The broken buttons are Bosch p/no 165246. As you still cannot reset the programme, the tongue which is pushed by the button will probably have broken off the front of the pcb box (you should see a small cranked arm through the hole where the button was). The pcb box is p/no 264946.

You can order them from http://www.bshappliancecare.com

Bear in mind that these buttons are meant to be “Touch Control”, so the lack of response points either the box buttons, or the pcb has failed in some form.

If you’re not sure at this point, it’s time for professional help. Check Directories or Repairs@ for a local UKW engineer.

If you are continuing, pull the plug first. :plug:

    Wooly,
As far as I can tell, this equates to error code 9 – “Size switch error” To quote the manual

    “Action.
If the display module has just been inserted into a console housing, then check that the two size switch plungers accurately locate onto the console housing. If this fault has appeared during normal operation of the machine, check the size switch or deplace display module.

If the motor control module has been changed from one size machine to another, the the size switch settings in the memory will have to be reset. This can be done by entering and exiting the Option Adjustment mode. Push and hold “START/PAUSE”, then push power button.”

Good luck, you now know as much as I do.

    Penguin45.

Oh Jimmy, what are we going to do about this? Sorry no-ones come back. The trade members are all wanting to tell you gently it’s time to get some help…….. Shame, you’ve done really well so far.

The only comment I would make with regards to your recent efforts is that the temperature sensor should have two (2) wires attached to it in order to complete the circuit. You said that there was one blue attached; the sensor is effectively out of circuit. This will be a fault as far as the computer is concerned……….

The problem with the heater being “On” all the time points again to faulty wiring (connected incorrectly) or the heater relay on the computer board being stuck “on” – possible but unlikely.

I can’t advise you as to the correct wiring, the charts are not available to us mere mortals – there are Indesit/Ariston engineers on the site who may be able to tell you more. If I recall correctly, the wires to the sensor are either red or blue, but very thin. The heavy wires go to the heater.

Hang fire and Clyde or Ray may be able to give you some more exact info.
