I suspect that your diagnosis is incorrect. First 2 leds lit indicates some sort of drain problem – the machine thinks that it is full fo water after a set drain time period. Check that the machine does actually drain, if it does, it would imply that the water level control sytem is not functioning as it should.

Whatever you do, pull the plug first. :plug:

Undertray may well be flooded to operate both pumps together. Draining undertray will reset the float switch, but you will still have to find the leak. If you are not confident in your abilities, please seek professional help.

Check “Repairs@” or “Directories” for a repairer in your area.

If you’re going to have a go yourself, pull the plug first. :plug:

    Hi Dave,
Can’t find anything at this end – even on Google! Best bet may be http://www.repair2000.com which appears to be an online advice and spares site in the US.

Hope that is some small help,

    Hi Spurs1,
Obvious things to check are the door rubber for holes and also the state of the soap drawer and box. Water can (and does!) trickle down the front, round the door opening and appears on the floor in the middle.

If you need more specific advice we will need the model number of the appliance (right hand corner of control panel.

The Bosch washers seem to be 6kg across the range at the mo – WFO2466 Classixx seems to be a reasonable choice – 1200 spin and 2 years warranty as standard.

Most of the manufacturers do a compact dryer these days – Hotpoint/Creda is the most popular one, but Zanussi, White Knight and others all make acceptable versions.

Joakim – either very simple – on/off switch failure, or rather complicated – computer board failure. Given that you have commented that the machine was not working correctly before, I would think the computer is the more likely problem.

    Time to get the engineer…….

Yup, you can get them in Shop@, but TBH most DIY places have them these days, or any local repair shop.

If the oven is a real burnt-on greasy mess BTW, make up a strong solution of biological washing powder in WARM (not hot) water and drop in all the bits you want to clean – leave overnight and in the morning the greasy mess will quite literally wipe off!

    Re: Advise on LG machines

    Hi bmc,
    Points to consider:

    1) All washer dryers are a bit of a pig in a poke – the wash part will function perfectly well, but the dryers are hopeless in comparison with a stand alone tumble dryer. Half a load max to dry, 90-120 mins drying time and heavy fabrics (denim/courdroy and the like) will NOT dry – you can finish them with the iron, but isn’t that defeating the object?

    2) The LG range seem to suffer from premature drum bearing failure in service. This is usually a pretty heavyweight repair, often involving a tub change – out of guarantee it’s a big bill!

    3) Service is outsourced by LG, so you would be very likely to get a visit from one of our lovely members, who will no doubt do an excellent job assuming the spares are available – they do come from Korea…..

If you’ve got space (or hoards of kids) ALWAYS go for separates – if you’re on your own, the machine will do an adequate job, within the limitations of the dryer. Perhaps consider an extended warranty with this purchase?

Connect the blue hose to the machine – yours is cold fill only. Waste to the drain of course.

Personally I buy large plastic tubes of LM, with a 1/4″ nozzle – shove it down the damper, squeeze ’til it overflows – job done. Bounce it a few times when assembled and it’s fine.

    Cheers,
    Chris.

    Spoonz,
    The reasons could be:

    Insufficient airflow.
    Faulty control stat.
    Earth fault on element.
Failed condenser feed (trickle of cold water.

The other thing that does it is Mrs opening the door half way through “to see how they’re doing”, instead of running the cooling down step first.

If you’re going in for another look, don’t forget the plug.

The root of your problem will almost certainly lie in the “side panel” or matrix as this directly affects fill functions. Very occasionally you get lucky and can blast it clear with a garden hose, but generally replacement is the only long term solution.

Your machine is a Zanussi in a posh frock BTW – had you searched there you will find this problem quite regularly!

    Penguin45.
