I think this is a no fill fault – check water supply turned on, failing that possible valve failure, or supply from computer to valve failed. Probably a bit technical, so if you are not confident with test equipment send for an engineer. Check in the Directories section for a local UKW repairer, or pop up your post code and someone will pick up on it.

If you’re going to have a look yourself, pull the plug first!

Granville’s Petro Patch Putty – amazing stuff, knocks spots off the epoxy putty that wholesalers supply, machine usable within the hour and it never, EVER leaks.

Pulley sits on a taper collar (like old 17 series Creda machines). Last one I did was drop the motor, undo the crosspiece, fit sacrificial bolt and give it a good wallop whilst pulling the crosspeice towards you. It comes in the end.

Thermostat kit for the machine is indeed 1701557, it’s in the Shop@ bit of the site, but you will need to have a word with Dave_Conway about postage charges – probably a little bit more.

    Parts are through Whirlpool.

    Safety thermostat is p/no 4819 282 28538 @ £24.92
    Oven thermostat is 4819 271 29032 @ £37.50

Prices plus VAT and carriage – Dave Conway should be able to organise them for you.

You need to find out where the fault actually lies, if you are not confident using test equipment, I would suggest checking in the Directories section for a UKW engineer in your area.

Whatever you do, pull the plug first.

The pumps used these days (synchronous magnetic motors) can simply refuse to run if the armature wears the plastic pump housing. The motor unit can be replaced at reasonable expense, however, you do need to ensure that the pump is receiving 230v first!

If you cannot do this safely I would suggest popping up your postcode and seeing if there is a UKW engineer in your area.

Whatever you do, pull the plug first.

This seems to be more about presentation than names. May I suggest :

    Box
    Information
    Directories@

    Box
    Appliances
    Reviews@

    Box
    Repairs
    Repairs/Fix (whatever)@

    Etc

I would suggest that this is more about clarity than anything else!

    Cheers,
    Chris.

Or even “Fix@….. ” – Shorter the better (No, I’m not talking about myself…) and more easily remembered.
