Too late now I know but a tip for anyone else doing this job. When removing and refitting the outer drum from the machine find yourself a couple of lengths of fairly thick stranded electrical wire. Get a flat blade screwdriver and prise up each top suspension spring so you can pass a wire under the spring hook. Wind a length of wire round each hand and use the wires as handles to lift the springs off the top crossmember and lower the drum down. If you now remove the springs you should be able to leave the wires in place ready for hoisting the drum back into place. That way you know you have the right spring slots.

Yes, you could call it the “General Tirade” forum 😆

No, it’s not that one but I’ve just found it by trawling through other Beko models:
    Connect Part No. 5031683016687

    Thanks for looking anyway. 🙂

    Thanks Don,
perhaps they have to load all the models onto the new system from scratch as it only seems to cover a limited range at the moment. I just tried looking at the Beko DV5531B which is an electric cooker. Mediator shows it as a gas cooker! 😆

Yes the heater resistance sounds OK. The figure I quoted was typical of washing machines rather than Indesits in particular so yours is probably a lower wattage than some others.
When fully worn there will be approximately 1/4″ of carbon brush protruding from the metal sleeve.

You should be able to drain the machine by gravity if you put the outlet hose into a bucket at floor level. The heater resistance should be about 20 ohms but I would agree that motor brushes are a more likely cause than heater failure. Yes, if you unplug the motor the electronics will detect this as a fault and will not operate the rest of the machine.

That’s interesting about the bearing sizes. The bearings listed are the ones you have in your machine but all the FL1032 machines I’ve done bearing changes on have had the smaller ones. I’ve not done one of these for a few years now but they were a very popular model at the time.

Bearings on the 1000rpm models are normally 6204 and 6205. Did you have much bother getting the drum shaft out of the old bearings? Sometimes you have to drift out the shaft and it spreads the end so that the pulley no longer fits properly.

The Homespare pulley finally arrived today and it is slightly different to the 912 one as it’s about 1/4″ shorter. I will see if it still works OK without the belt jumping off. 🙁

    Re: tub repair

Araldite is epoxy though I’ve never used it for tub repairs. I tend to cut off a non essential bit of the plastic to use as filler material which I weld on with the soldering iron. I then cover the area with a thick layer of silicone sealer.

Indesit are bad for changing part designs every 5 minutes. I often find I have to re-use the plastic shell from the original brushes as the new ones are slightly different.

I suggest you carefully look again. You should find it will only go on one way onto the timer spindle/cam and also one way for engaging in the tenons of the programme indicator dial. Obviously you have to rotate the indicator dial to line up with the other parts.

Re: Bra wire Bosch washer/dryer WVTI2840GB (plus smell issue

Are you sure that is the correct model number? The Bosch website shows blow up diagrams of the machines with part number information. I tried to find this information for the model number you give in the heading but it is not recognised:

    https://www.bosch-eshop.com/eshop(bD1lbiZjPTAwOQ==)/bosch/gb/indexa.htm

You click on the above link then enter your model number in the “appliance search” box.
Generally we would try to retrieve a foreign object trapped between the drums by removing either the sump hose from the bottom of the outer drum or the heater. Bosch machines sometimes have a base which prevents access to the sump hose from underneath. In such cases it may be necessary to remove the cabinet front. To do this you normally remove the soap drawer and take out any screws thus exposed. You also have to detach the door seal from the cabinet front and either remove the door switch or unplug it’s wiring. The cabinet front is now just held on with screws along it’s bottom edge, which may be covered with a plastic trim panel. As usual, unplug or isolate first!

    Re: BOSCH WFF2000GB

Probably worn motor brushes. I’m not sure about your model but many Bosch machines of that era require the motor to be dismantled to change the brushes, a job probably best left to the experts.
