ParticipantRe: Washing Machine Dimensions
Thanks Graeme,
I’m now wondering about a Beko. I know they are very cheap but I don’t get to see many broken ones. There may be various reasons for this such as:
1) They are quite reliable
2) They are so cheap most people throw them away rather than get them repaired
3) There are simply not many out there
4) The extended warranty is cheap so most owners take this upNo doubt if I recommend a Beko it will turn out to be a pile of junk 🙄

Just did some surfing and there is the Zanussi ZWC1300W which has reduced width & depth or the Bosch WFC2467GB but they are both around £400, ie on a par with integrated appliance prices. The Bosch seems very small at only 440mm deep so must have quite a small drum. My mate has seen a Hoover machine that would fit. I don’t rate the modern Hoovers very highly but I suppose it’s better than an Indesit.

Thanks Dave. I’m still on Sali14. I suppose they won’t send me the new CD until I give them an order but I can’t find the items I need to order without the CD 😉

I think some folk are afraid of taking the belt off in case they can’t get it back on. I once got called to fit a belt for a chap who had tried and failed. He was gobsmacked when I had it on in a few seconds. 😆

It gave the customer a few shocks as well 😳 . The door microswitch failed and I bypassed it until I could get a new switch. I had instructed them to turn it off at the wall before unloading but of course they mostly forgot and sometimes the drum started turning when they were unloading. To make matters worse, the microswitch was on back order from Connect since early December and only arrived today. 🙁

I wish I could manage my customers, they just won’t do as they’re told 😉

ParticipantRe: Serious Windows wmf.exploit threat.
I was just using the Connect website and found that I could not get up the larger photos of parts, just a blank window. Similarly, I can’t display the UKW map. Could these bugs be related to this issue?

It’s probably my browser playing up but I can’t see the map. 🙁

Although my question was a general one I do have a current job on one of these machines, model M3510S. This has an enamel tub and there is adjustment for belt tension but the machine is not filling, draining or turning the drum. I checked the resistors in situ and they seem to be about the right resistance. I measured the voltage across them and it was about 180 volts in each case.

Thanks. I suppose the resistors are used to reduce the mains voltage rather than fitting a transformer. I will start checking them.

I find a lot of people only offer a cuppa after I’ve started writing out the bill. I suppose they want to make sure they are not paying by the hour for me to drink their tea. One of the worst drinks I’ve been given was when doing a job in the hotel next door. I suppose they must buy those 10p per thousand teabags for giving to tradesmen. Some of my elderly customers lay on a superb spread, with butteries, Scotch pancakes, cakes etc. If I remember I allow extra time for such visits 😀

Are you sure it’s not a W143T ? If it is the pulley is C00074211.

Yes, thanks for providing an invaluable resource. Wishing you all a healthy and preposterous 2006.  😀
