prove motor action by taking the back off.. select spin program .at the same time you can see if the belt is off!

Re: creda under counter fan oven

htpnt, yes a cooling fan set at an angle behind the control panel. when i tested the oven after fitting the new t/stat with the oven on the floor, the fan came on for about 1min. then put it back into the cavity and the oven got to 220c, tried it again through lower temps and all seemed to be ok. however i did not listen if the cooling fan came on.

you say you have been £50 call out plus parts….no mention of a labour charge! so i infer that the “call out” charge is not a call out but a labour charge….however long the engineer is working on your machine. a good offer.

Re: Large capacity drums putting holes in clothes?

andy, could this be a case of poor quality control.that is the holes which are punched through are not properly set and you end up with one or more holes with a sharp edge which catches the fabric. if you get a call about this problem ask the customer to run their hand carefully and thougherly across EVERY hole to see if there is a sharp edge! only one bad hole will cause tearing.

pull the w/d out so that you can work comfortably at the back. at the bottom of the back there is a removable panel, 2 or 3 cross head scews hold it in place. remove panel. at this time it makes the access to the pump and filter easier if you can tilt the w/d forward. get someone to hold it steady. UNPLUG!!!!!!
the filter is in the large black tube from the bottom of the tub to the drain pump bottom right with drain hose connected. use crosshead screwdriver to loosen clip holding the big tube to the bottom of the tub ,put a tray or bowl under it and slip it off. have a look inside…see what treasure you find…if its clear replace it..the white insert with plastic ball will only fit in one way…easier if you find the right way first then put the tube back and tighten clip to secure firmly. then remove plasitc clip securing the big tube to the drain pump…if thats clear remove drain pump, you dont need to disconnect the drain hose. look inside pump and because you are getting a slow drain the pump should be ok but check anyway as you are in the right place to do it. i suspect you will find the “filter” will be blocked which slows the rate of water flow to the drain pump.
post and update when you can

i don’t do a high call out fee, infact i don’t have a call out fee!!
however as i have posted before, one of the worst things, which i absolutely abhore is being called to a job then i’m told…” i’ve had a go myself and i can’t do it/ get it back together!!!”
i suggest you get a local independant qualified experienced appliance engineer out and pay for the job to be done properly..if you don’t know one ask someone and go by recommendation

Re: Hotpoint WD420 – Not draining before spin

if you can, get the drain hose and put the end in a bucket or bowl higher than the top of the w/m, set programme for rinse spin, hold the drain hose over the bucket/bowl and see if the water whoooses out fast. if it doesn’t there is a partial blockage in the drain system somewhere.
    good luck
    richard.
