john, a while back i had a t/d with similar fault, it had a one touch start button, ie non locking. tried most of the above suggestions but in desperation i changed the start button and all was well..it didn’t make sense as a fix as you would think as it had started the button had done its job!! take one with you just in case. :rolls:

john, if you had a problem getting the bearings you will have a greater problem getting the old ones out. ususally i get a complete back half of the drum which comes complete with bearings.

gegsy, as it looks like you are living/working in our wonderfull north wales you know that when the viet taff aren’t checking driving documents they turn their ARRIVE ALIVE vans into static but cunningly placed speed traps. although motor manufacturers cannot supply an 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} accurate speed indicator in your vehicle THE LAW will prosecute for the driver travelling at 33mph in the 30mph area. 3 points £60.

to all visitors to the police area covered by north wales police.(viet taff) on the borders of this fine country the cops regularly apply the aptly named ARRIVE ALIVE vans, this wonderful van has a high speed camera linked to big brother which reads the vehicle number plate and checks within nanoseconds if it has current road tax, insurance and mot if required. if not, about half a mile down the road marked police cars chase miscreant, neeenaaaw and aprehend!

    Re: Ariston LSV66 – Overflowing!

alan, overfilling can be caused by the pressure switch not being activated. POWER OFF. take lid off, look for round item with some wires attatched and a rubber tube at the bottom which disappears towards the bottom of the tub. this is the air tube along which air is displaced when water enters the tub, when enough water is in the tub enough air is pushed up the tube and activates the pressure switch, water stops comiing in! so check the route of the air tube, find where it is attatched to the tub an see if you can see where there is a restriction. if you can’t see anything obvious, take air tube off pressure switch and blow down it.. the blow should be easy and possibly you will hear the noise of water being disturbed in the tub. if you don’t hear anything try and locate where the blockage is,…ok so far?

    Re: hotpoint appliances

toni, i know it’s a tricky one with extra appliances…especially when the one you have been booked to deal with, and got another job next …sods law two things happen a) the first is a pig which means you stand the risk of being late for the next one and b) customer says …while you’re here could you look at….. 😡 :rolls: as to charging if and it’s a BIG IF and you have the time i add £20 for the second one

    Re: Pat testing charges

mike, i do a very small amount of PAT, however i quote £45.00 then £2.00 per appliance. landlords are ok with this…£45 covers travelling, time on job and the £2 covers cost of itemised report.

Re: electrolux EW 1200 1 drum not spinning

sorry about the back off, as above spin the drum by hand. then UNPLUG and take the top off..see if belt is on pulley..if not the back will have to come off..if its the same as a zanussi you will need an 8mm socket spanner, to get all the securing bolts off..4 either side at the top, 2 each side (bottom of rear side panel concealed with plasic plugs) and 2 at the back at the 2 bottom corners

ok, sounds a grim outlook for the customer…she says she will contact hotpoint with regard to the t/d, which has model and SN and go from there
if i get a call back to deal with the other appliances i will post the history if there is one to tell. :rolls:
    richard
ps i will also post model numbers later
