My thoughts too. She has doubts though having read about the fires. I’ll give her the options and see what she says. I think they are well off so may go to the Smeg.
    Thanks

Nice house so don’t need extra heat. So what do you reckon on the main question?

    Dilemma.
    SGS53C02GB/08
No heat and dry joint(burnt) on PCB.
Not subject to recall but similar to problems on the recall units. The original part 493082 has been superceded by 426436.
Customer is a little wary so I’m not minded to resolder like we used to but is the new board likely to have been beefed up or shall I sell her a Smeg?
    Have fun. 😛

    Re: National Appliance Care ?

    Jamie,
By your reasoning it’s ok to make a loss, which it is, on a job if you can make a large profit on others.
What if you don’t get the large profit jobs, then it’s all losses.

    Re: National Appliance Care ?

It really is a swings and roundabouts way of getting work. If you don’t fit parts you make a loss on your usual charges, but still get say 70-80{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d}. If it is BER then I get say £49.50 – their £20.00 =£29.50 + VAT, which is £4.50 more than my usual charge.
    Jazz.

Your normal labour charge is £25.00? Mine is double that.
You must be running around like a mad. Ok you might get a lot of work but you are undervaluing yourself. You are also giving that company nearly half of your potential earning per job just for the intro.
I don’t understand your economics on both your labour charge or contibution for the intro.
Not having a go just confused.

You really think it’s a molehill?
They found it after smelling burning luckily for them. As they said, had they been in bed who knows.
Put yourself in their position and maybe you would see it in a different way.

    Thanks to Ken and Jackal.
This thread saved me from doing a job for this shower a couple of weeks ago, I nearly fell for the lies they told me on the ‘phone. How do they keep getting away with it?

Got caught on the hop today just as I got in. I asked if they were Go Local, no, we had heard of problems with them so we bought their websites(really). We are nothing to do with them and we pay by return.
Get details through and GLG on all the correspondence so I emailed back with “No Thanks”
UKW is a so useful. 💡

I’ve done the odd job for them and got paid by return, no problems. Didn’t ring for authorisation, completed and invoiced and got paid.
