Re: I need to rewire a cooker and a storage heater,

That’s brave Simon, I’ve only rewired one cooker, a Belling (Nat Homecare} in about 1992 where the connector between hob and oven used to melt. Every wire was replaced, took about 5/6 hours, swore I’d never do another. Went home and expected a call next day and for about a fortnight after but I must have got it right. Phew!
    Good luck

I think the green Hotpoint belt will do it but I’ll have a look over the holiday to see if I can find one

    Re: Swift

    Not in my experience.
Got an uplift number for a tumble dryer Monday, new one delivered, old one picked up on Wednesday. Always had good service from them and their drivers.
I do wish some of their prices were more competetive but having used both DAD and Portwey in the past they will deliver one machine and don’t need a shipping order.

I’ll have my £50 now Swift. :rotfl:
    Merry Christmas

Re: Does the term trade prices actually mean anything anymor

I get mine from Swift but only touch Bosch, Amica and White Knight if Amica are out of stock.
    WAB24060 Bosch I sell £319 fitted
    WAE24060 £355
    Amica 1200 £255
    Amica 1000 £229
    White Knight £229
I find most customers just say ok as I get good service from the Swift drivers, twice a week and they trust me.
I won’t touch Hotpoint,Hoover or any others from Swift unless they want a W/dryer plus the Amica stuff is mine.

    Thanks Don,
Quite pricey, I think she will go with a mini oven for now, Argos are doing a half price Russell Hobbs rotisserie. I think she really wanted a combination microwave to replace her 30yr old Philips.
    Thanks again

    Thanks Martin,
will check those things but the solenoid was not getting 240 constantly, never found it o/c at any time. Will check it thoroughly again.
    Tim,
It stops dead every time after four minutes, nothing happens, just stops with the display showing time left.
I suspect the pcb but will go back.

I didn’t Martin, she had to go out and of course the job before was longer and as it is still rigid was a bit unsure . Will go back when I present her with the price of a Miele dishwasher pump.

Brought up on these,I did one last year.
Could be the belt, micro switch, motor. Best find out model no.it’s on a plate at the back or on some the front or control panel as lots of variations (or a photo) but they were last made in 1991 so spares are rare. Still got some spares in the loft so may be able to help.

    Re: What Made You Walk

Ashburton and Winchester, dog crap and pee up the machines. I waited while the one in Winchester was cleaned and when I took the top off it was full of rat droppings. Bye Bye!
One near Christchurch started swearing at me, I said “swear about the machine ok but swear at me and I’ll walk” He said ” you ffffing won’t” Turned round and left him to it.
All these were working for SUK and they backed me.

I just don’t go out. A rise to get out of the drive then a steep hill where others slide into cars. Nah! stay home 😆
