ParticipantRe: How Not To Clean Kids
I thought it was just a joke or prank at first but watching it made me feel uneasy and sick. I honestly didn’t think they were going to get the child out. What if it was an unatended laundry??

The seal puller is a Clarke CHT267 – other similar items are probably available.

ParticipantRe: Washer heater removal tool
If using a mixture of the techniques prevously stated doesn’t work then one of these may.
From my car maintenance tool box. Probably only used it a maximum of ten times but still carry it after the first time I used it. You’ve just to to be careful use a bit of common sense about using it.
I remember one particular one when even this tool couldn’t get out. Had to pull as much of the rubber out as possible and slowly cut it with a stanley knife bit by bit. Don’t know what had affected the rubber to make it swell so much..

I have litterally in the last two minutes had them on the phone asking me to do work from them. Stangely they were using a mobile number not land line.
Despite work being a bit quiet, I politely declined…RocketMan
ParticipantRe: Bosch SPAM 1200 – continually filling with water
That’s definately the correct part number. It would be impossible to list ALL the machines it fits which why there is the option to email the shop to confirm the part. There is no need to as this IS the correct part. The top one is Genuine Bosch, the second one is Quality Pattern Part.
If you’re not sure about partern parts think of it this way. If your car is not serviced by a dealer but a local garage – chances are it’s serviced with pattern parts.
You pick and then buy it from the shop – Great service

I can’t access my code of practice book at the moment but like Martin, I’m positive it’s for the whole appliance.
Look at it from this point of view: If the customer has the grill in use, and then they put the fan oven on, that’s probably over 3KW. 😉RocketMan

ParticipantRe: Masterpart invoices
Individual invoices with deliveries and regular as clockwork monthingly bill with little booklets.
Also all the details of all invoices and payments are on “My account” One of the better things about their upgarded site. Unlike their ever deminishing stock levels and rapidly rising prices !!!!

ParticipantRe: Free call outs
I stopped doing free call outs as such some years ago and with fuel at £1.50ish per Litre I’ve not intention of starting.
However, it doesn’t mean I won’t do them at all. If the circumstances are correct and it’s not going to cost me too much time or fuel I’ll do it.
My criteria is:
I must be in and around the area or passing, (or willing to wait a few days until I might be passing)
I can get enough information for a pre-diagnosis before hand.
I then make a case by case judgement call.Had one yesterday that the lady in question waited 2 days until I passed her house. She’s not getting her dryer fixed but she’s kept my card and has taken a few for her friends. She was appreciative of the effort I made. Ten minutes, fifteen at the most and was I was driving past her house so nothing lost but might gain in the future.
That said, most are not interested and if you won’t drop everything and rush out and give them a free estimate straight away, they don’t want to know. About 85{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time it’s a, thanks but no thanks. 😀

ParticipantRe: Hoover 31000269 – circuit/PCB diagramme
That thought had crossed my mind. What makes me think it might be ok is that the machine does everything apart from drain. Fills, washes and spins (if water removed manually) so hopefully should be ok. Thanks any way

ParticipantRe: B8139-4-M
Wasn’t the fan element. It was only a burnt out loose connector. All sorted. However, customer wants to replace her newly repaired £1k oven because it’s had two minor repairs in 11 1/2 months. To be honest, she didn’t even bat an eye lid when I mentioned £88.00 for an element. Some people just don’t know how lucky they are. I’ll take it off her hands if she pays me. Thanks for your help Bazza but I didn’t get to find out if that element would work.
