    Hi Dave,

Having a nightmare with this job. The belt that came off was marked 124021010 Megadyne 1200 J6.
I went back armed with a 1200 belt 2nd time(not gen but pattern)…still too big. Back half off. Checked for excess play motor and drum bearing…no issues.
Measured the belt that came off. I cut the old one to get a more accurate measurment. 1175mm approximately. Even though it’s marked 1200.

    Am I missing something?

I’m losing the will to live with it. Not a short distance away either…Seriously lost out.

Thanks Dave. The agents have accepted that I fit a new one but without any guarantee…no option really, young family, they need the oven sorting.
I agree, not cheap for rubbish.

Getting washing machine heaters out if you live in a bad limescale area.

For years I sometimes spent ages trying to remove badly limescalled up heaters from washing machines.

    Simple trick.

I make up a solution of citric acid and hot water 1-2 litres.. pour it in to the drum. I go away for 10 minutes, make a few calls etc.

I return, drain the machine and bingo, the heating element comes out without reistance. No snagged or broken heater supports either.
Why I hadn’t tought of it before I don’t know?

I tend to buy 5KG or 10KG tubs of citric acid. So much cheaper than that cr*p Calgon!! and other washing machine cleaners.
I regularly leave a cup full for my customers to do a service wash.. Most are amazed at the results of citric acid and heat for cleaning their WMs.
2-3 spoon fulls work wonders with kettles as well. Just rinse afterwards and don’t make it too strong.

Very simple but so effective šŸ™‚

I know this an old thread. Just bit the bullet and waiting on my new BM878 to arrive. I couldn’t justify the Metrahit cost. I have my old clamp meter that I keep on the van that will fill any gaps my new BM878 won’t fill.

The message regarding limited operations due to CV19 is still on the home page for account holders.
However, Friday afternoon, after the 3pm cut off, I ordered and it’s just arrived. So, I presume they’re backto being fully operational with regards to trade accounts?
Oh, I also messed up my password change a while bacand it took a bit to get it changed. Didn’t get told if I was Gold, Silver or Bronz medalist šŸ™‚ Probably copper with the amount I order from them.

All sorted. Eupoart LG-34-01A or AEG73309901. AEG part number on the heater that’s currently fitted to the appliance. šŸ™‚

Why do LG WM’s have AEG heaters in them? I thought the Koreans produced everything in the world?

As Electrofix said, there’s 2 digits missing off the model no. There’s and / (obliqute stroke) then 2 number. Either 45, 54 57 or 58.
Again as Electrofix said, easily done once the front is off.

It looks similar to one I worked on recently. IIRC you have to have it out to take the top off the access the screws for the front facia so you can get the front off.
If that’s the case, you might want to try from the back. Please power off!!. Check and double check. Unplug it, don’t just turn it off. Also, if it has a pcb at the bottom front inside, don’t wreck it when you take the hose off. Use the drain down hose to empty the sump!! Oh and have lots of plasters handy because every panel edge is like a razor blade šŸ™‚ Good luck

Thanks Dave. I’m of the same mind. I’ll just get a few Miele models that fit the 10 year warranty with and without auto dosing and she can make her own mind up.
