It’s a Haier, BTW.
Chris.
…argghh “Haier”..don’t swear at me…
Thanks Bazza and Pingu..
£43 SSP from Baumatic seems ok to me. Just got to sell it to the customer. He fits shops for a living and got it for £120.00, ex display….
I don’t think he wants to spend too much on the repair….mind you he’s already been ripped off buying a Haier… 😆RocketMan

Mbdas,
you were spot on !!. Ironically, I did look under the wiring cover (metal in this case) on my first quick visit but didn’t see the fuse holder hidden behind the tape binding it all together.
For futher info fuse is T6.3 (surge) Amp 250v (20mm), £2.69 for a pack of ten from Maplins…. no obvious cause for it to blow in the first place.
The lady told me how she bought it off E-bay (oh no..) and it came with a 13A 3 pin plug… !!!! Not bad for an appliance with a 4.6 KW element !!! plus motor etc etc. Eventually had to call WHP out because it kept blowing fuses 😯 😯 😯 😯 It is now all correctly installed on with it’s own mcb on the consumer unit.
Thanks to all who offered help and advice.

ParticipantRe: Free HD TV?
Our old and faithfully CRT tv litterally blew up 8 day before the start of the olypics….. and I mean blew up…big bang, lots of smoke and a big cheer from the boss becuase she knew I had no excuse not to get that new plasma TV.
I bought this http://www.johnlewis.com/230483473/Product.aspx…argh, the price has already come down £100.00 pound in 6 weeks…!!! But it was worth it, the Olympics in full HD.
Anyway, a friends runs a Sat dish installation company, and then he came round, took old LNB off and put a Quad one on, fed two feeds to the front room (sky box and Plasma tv, 1 each). I now have 2 spare and he says it will not affect quality of the picture if I use the other two feeds. No hastle at all apart from the beer he drank….I don’t know about 8 feeds but I have seen a six feed LNB?.
So yes, you can use your existing freebie dish for your extra feeds…cost will vary locally…… I saw £75.00 from one company for upgrade work to sky dish. PS you do need to get an LNB with more feeds, you can’t normally split satelite feeds like you can tv coax.
Not too many HD channels yet but it is getting better all the time… go for it, get your home cinema going… it’ll be worth it.
As for which TV plasma or LCD… do your research…plasma generally considered better for the larger size tvs…loads of helpful uk sites..and like white goods, you get what you pay for with the quality….they vary greatly..
hope this helps..

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint BFI620 DW LED 2 + 4
Hi Twoten,
I was wondering how you were getting on with this one? I’ve litterally just walked back in from seeing one with the same symptoms. Customer is happy for a new PCB but after reading this thread it’s put a bit of doubt in my mind. In this case, you start it off, it empties, fills, washes for about 5 seconds then pumps out and error code LED’s 2 + 4 Flashing.
I did a few checks and questioned the customer:
When selecting the programe you used to be able to select programe 1 then it would go to 1 & 2 combined, then 2, then 3 etc etc. However, since it starting going faulty, when selecting the programmes it just goes 1, 2 3 then 4. I tried it on Eco so it still does the same, aborts and shows up the same error??
No obvious prolems, meggers out ok. Any suggestions ??

Sorry I didn’t know how to copy just that extract and publish it here – I don’t know if some one else has the ability/knowledge. No problems with copy right though.

Hi thanks for the replies.
A quick search this evening and manged to find a few items of interest:
http://www.dryerbox.com/welcome_dryerbox.htm
http://www.dryerbox.com/news_articles/2 … _admin.pdf“According to the U.S. Fire Administration (Division of U.S. Department of Homeland Security), clothes dryers were involved in an estimated 15,600 U.S. structure fires, fifteen deaths, 400 injuries and $99 million in direct property damage, annually, between 2002-2004. The leading cause of clothes dryer fires was lack of maintenance (lint build-up in the exhaust system)”
http://www.mawwfire.gov.uk/press_eng/ne … asp?id=154
http://www.staffordshirefire.gov.uk/ccm … NiE9ig6tvgHaven’t been able to get good figures for TD fires in the UK. Lots of individual brigades reporting TD fire but no over all figures. Both Home Office and HSE websites have not been too helpful. Will get the other half to try try the county fire brigade. Not sure how much detail she want though ??
Thanks again Steve

Take a deep breath, count to 10 and add him to your ignore list and don’t do any work for him again. !!!! He’ll eventually run out of people to work for him and get the message eventually.

ParticipantRe: AEG Favorit 50750 – suitable replacement
Cheers mate, thanks for that.
I normally keep up to speed with ISE. I knew the DW was coming out soon but didn’t realise it was ready. I must admit I only fleetingly glanced at the ISE site last night and was quite tired but I didn’t miss this:
“ISE currently have two washing machines available and one tumble dryer, though over time we hope to develop another tumble dryer and two dishwashers”
On looking at the site closer this morning it does list the DW.. doh…but the text above is still there.
Are there any leaflets availalble for ISE appliances? I do keep trying to sell them and I’m asked continually for leaflets.
Time for me to persuade them to buy the ISE DW – I know the 5 year warranty will be the selling point.
Thanks
Regards

Machine fitted with the askoll type wash pump. The hose to the sump from this motor has ruptured but appears to be part of the motor pump cover. This motor is not supplied now in favour of the earlier motor type. How can i resolve the replacement of this pipe…cut it off and fit the standard hose or what???
Winker, I;m quite sure that I’ve got a spare hose. I replaced an old style motor in a WP DW after the impellor broke off. I remember reading on this forum that you should keep the hose as they’re not available seperately. If fI remeber the hose is attached to some house that clips/screws onto the wash motor.
PM me and I’ve got to be in tomorrow PM so I’ll have a bit of time to have a look for it. It’s somewhere in our very cluttered garage…I’m possitive.
