You actually dated a girl with a face like that? I hope you turned that green light off when you went into restaurants.well roly, she was a special girl who could look beyond my physical shortcomings..though i never take a good picture IMO.. as for the light sabre.. i take it everywhere, have you never heard of the dark side?? 😯
She certainly must have been a special girl. Either that or she looked like that as well and thought you were handsome. And of course I’ve heard of the dark side. It’s where we go every day when we step across a customer’s threshold. 😆

Yes, the mafia is in evidence over there but I’d say it’s a bit of an exaggeration to say they run everything; I’m sure that was said tongue in cheek though. There’s a lot of corruption amongst public bodies as well. The interesting thing though is that 40 years ago this country was free-and-easy while Bulgaria was ruled from Moscow by a puppet dictator. Now Bulgaria is very free-and-easy whereas over here if you put a missing cat notice up on a lamp-post in Tameside the council phone you up and tell you to take it down or you’ll be fined. And heaven help you if you don’t shut the lid on your wheelie bin, or you put it out on the road a day early.
You can avoid the mafia in Bulgaria if you behave sensibly, and you can stroll around the pleasant town and city centres at night without fear of attack. You can’t avoid the increasingly petty-minded local authority jobsworth bureaucrats here though. That’s why lots of people from here are living over there; that and the fact that the cost of living is one-third what ours is, of course!
You don’t need a waste licence to carry cardboard packing around in your van either………… 😯

Well, I suppose it’s always possible, but I’ve made Bulgarian friends in the village, one of whom keeps an eye on it for us, so I’m hoping for the best.

You think that’s funny? I had to wear those recently so I didn’t get her laminate floor dirty!! 😯

Minimum charge is now £60 plus VAT. More on the odd/harder makes, like £80 on Teka or Kuppersbusch and higher on some.
No impact whatsoever on call volumes.

Very Interesting. I thought I was expensive at £50+VAT. Time for an increase methinks.

Bulgaria is an amazing country. We bought a run-down house as an investment not very far from you in the village of Gorna Lipnica and have had it renovated, to stay in for the time being, but it’s on the market. There are about 30 British owners in the village and five or six British families living there now. A totally different way of life to here.

My Dad always used to say: “Beware of experts; they’re invariably wrong.”

I think my most memorable one was an old bird (seventy at least) who called me to look at her washer & proceeded to tell me how lonely she felt since her divorce 5 years ago, how she missed a man in her bed, etc, etc.
Getting no response from me, she then came over to the machine (hpt 95) & pretended to express an interest in the brush change i was doing.
This allowed her to rub her breast against my arm (i kid you not ! :eeek: )You were lucky it was a hotpoint 95 and not a machine with the motor at the bottom…….. 😯

ParticipantRe: Enough to make you vomit…
I’ve actually had a Hotpoint washing machine that had obviously been used as a toilet so that you could see the urine level in the drum.
But to be fair cases like these are extremely rare.

ParticipantRe: merloni modules/eeproms
Regular poster Baron from Romania is a very clever electronics engineer who knows a lot about the workings of Merloni electronics. Perhaps he might shed some light on this subject.
That reminds me; I met him over there recently and have not got round to telling you about it. I’ll write a posting in the ‘General Trade’ forum now.

Also check that the wires to the heater haven’t partially broken at the crimp terminals leaving just a few strands in place. The electronics picks up the high resistance when this happens.

ParticipantRe: CREDA commadore 49113
A cooling fan is usually controlled by a normally open thermostat in series with it that closes when the oven or control panel reaches a certain temperature. It sounds as if the one on this cooker is stuck closed. Follow the wiring back from the fan motor and see what you find.
