Re: Samsung Fridge Freezer (American Style)

It would be covered by the Samsung Warranty as the Currys insurance only comes into effect when the warranty runs out.

If it has iced up after 2 months then there is a problem and better to have it iced up so the engineer can see it.

The type of load noise points more to a problem of pipework expanding and contracting if it is inside the insulation then it may not be an easy fix.

It is most likely the compresssor or a refrigerant leak.

    Not a DIY repair

Have a look for the label in the fridge take the veg boxes out to see if there is a label it should have the model number on it or it may be behind the bottom drawer in the freezer.

It will be the jazz board faulty as Tony said.

Sometimes the code on the model number plate will not work when programming the new pcb as it may not have the same Jazz number.

If it does not try default numbers 05 or 15.

A load cracking noise like you describe may need checking out as this is not a fault normally associated with Samsung American fridge freezers.

If it was coming from inside the fridge freezer it would not normally be noisy enough to wake you up.

The only noise from inside the fridge that would be load enough is a iced up fan but that would not sound like a cracking noise.

The only trouble is as it is intermitant it may not make the noise when the engineer is there making it difficult for the engineer to diagnose as this is not a normal problem on Samsung Fridge Freezers.

This would just be the sound of parts expanding and contracting with the change in temperature.

This may gradually get less as the parts like the rear panels in the fridge and freezer find there natural position and move slightly causing less stress on the plastic that makes the cracking noise.

If you have been told to walk 500 miles then told to walk 500 more you may be entitled to compensation.

Phone the pro-claimers to find out.

The noise will probably return in a few days if you do not carry out a 48 hour defrost.

If it does then carry out the 48 hour defrost.

You just have to lever it off once it comes uncliped near the screwdriver slots it starts to get easier to unclip.

On your model just check to see if there are any visible screws underneath by the water/ice dispenser outlet.

If there are it would be no more than two Phillips type screws.

    If there are remove them.

The display just levers off carefully with a screwdriver starting at the bottom.

If no screws are visible then it just levers off.

Make sure you turn the power off at the mains before removing the display.

The display just clips back on you may have to bang it back on
with the palm of you hand near the edges.

Be careful as some of the spares for your model are now obsolete.

It sounds like the fault is the display buttons sticking.

No you would need a refrigeration engineer preferably F Gas registered or city & Guilds 2078 & 2079 certified.

It could also be low on Gas as the compressor runs all the time.

As it is an inverter compressor if the gas was not removed and then the gas was not weighed in it may still be undercharged.

If the compressor is not pumping correctly it will show up when you Regas.

    Re: samsung rs7unrs

Samsung fault code states Compressor locked.
Check voltage to compressor If voltage ok then most likely the compressor is seized.

10 year warranty on compressor but not Labour.
