    Hi Jim

My Wife had Judge Rinder on when I was having a break and a cup of tea from decorating the bedroom.

Working harder at the moment than fixing Appliances but no pressure to get the job done.

Retirement is Great highly recommend it.

    Re: Another Successful Conference

It gets bigger and better each year and could save Independent’s a lot of money if they are able to attend and also lots of work on offer.

Even though I have retired I am still glad I attended to see the show and friends.

Thanks to all the WTA team and everyone who put in so much work.

    See you next year.

Re: Beko F/F Relay clicking compressor off??

If the compressor runs for a short time it will not be the relay.

If the relay was faulty it would not run or make any noise.

It runs for a short time then cuts out after a few seconds as the compressor is drawing too much current and then cuts out on the thermal cut out above the relay.

If you have a fault with the cut out or relay then the compressor will not run.

You can get universal relays but I would save your money as it will be the compressor faulty and if the new relay did work and run this would be short lived as it would weaken the thermal cut out and fail again.

You will find if you leave it on and it keeps running the compressor for a short time it will get Hot due to the windings overheating.

This shows it is getting power from the relay.

It is more likely to be the compressor faulty not a cheap repair.

LG are reliable but spares are sometimes not so readily available.

BEKO American are reasonably reliable and spares are cheap.

Price is not always an indication nowadays of reliability.

It is no longer the case of you get what you pay for.

If I was going to purchase an American type I would go for a Daewoo or Beko

I have recently retired but specialised in fridge freezer repairs
and i have found Beko, Daewoo or LG do not suffer from major faults if they go wrong and more likely only minor faults that can be repaired at a reasonable cost.

Re: New van diesel or petrol

It depends how big a van you need.

MITSIBISHI do the plug in hybrid outlander van for about £23,500.

If you are around London there is no congestion charge for the outlander. Plus up to 148 miles per Gallon.

No road tax. And you can claim 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} back in the first year off your trading profit,

Daewoo are reasonable price and spares are not expensive.

Daewoo are in general reliable Bosch / Siemens must think so as well as there American Fridge Freezers are just rebadged Daewoo but a lot more expensive than a Daewoo.

It’s a common fault the fridge sensor will be the fault.

The trouble is the sensor is foamed in and you have to cut open the insulation on the back of the fridge.

Once you have compromised the insulation you never can insulate it to the same standard as it was made and it only leads to further problems.

Re: Samsung Fridge Freezer RS21 JLBG Noisy Fan

The defrost heater is not working from the look of it the best way for a reliable repair would be a evaporator service pack and a new rear panel.

You can the take the parts Heater / defrost sensor / and thermal fuse off the new evaporator and fit the to the existing evaporator.

Plus fit a new rear panel that comes with all the fitting instructions for the panel.

Re: Samsung Fridge Freezer RS21 JLBG Noisy Fan

If you look on the search you will see a lot of info on testing the RS21 there is also pictures you can look at.

If the fan is working ok and it is frozen all over it could be the defrost heater/ defrost sensor/ thermal fuse/ or drain heater as well as a new panel.

You can only tell by testing each item or putting it in test mode but the test mode does not always detect the fault.

If you search Samsung RS21 American Fridge freeezer on this site there is a helpful guide on RS21 faults with photos.

Or you could search find an engineer on this site.

Re: Samsung Fridge Freezer RS21 JLBG Noisy Fan

It could be just a rear panel or it could be a defrost system fault.
    Heater/Sensor/Thermal fuse.

When you say it was iced up was it white frost all over the evaporator or frost and ice just near the top & Fan ?

If it was all over then you have a defrost system fault or if it just near the top & Fan it may be just the rear panel.

Just search the RS21 help on this site SAMSUNG RS21 AMERICAN FRIDGE FREEZERS FAULT CODES it has photos etc.

Re: Samsung RS21 real temperature vs display

Empty the fridge and freezer and try a 48 hour defrost ( turn it off and leave the doors open ) as it sounds like it is iced up.

If the problem returns 2 to 4 weeks after it’s been defrosted you have a fault on the defrost system.

One light may have not been cold enough so it went to fast freeze.

Try setting it to the normal factory setting of three lights.

Also check the buttons are not sticking in.
