Re: Samsung RL37LGIH – Thermal Fuse Blowing

The thermal fuse should sit in between the cooling coils a bit more.
Hold it in place with cable ties.

The place it is in at the moment it may still pick up to much heat from the heater.

By being fitted closer to the evaporator between the coils it should prevent the thermal fuse getting too hot.

The hight of the fuse is about right

The model number is required to advise better.

But most Beko American type if the compressor is running it may be the fan faulty.

If it is silent and not running then most likely the main pcb faulty.

Re: Samsung RL37LGIH – Thermal Fuse Blowing

The defrost sensor fits at the bottom of the freezer evaporator on this model ( it slides in at the bottom ).

The sensor has the yellow plug on it.

Make sure the thermal fuse fits near the back of the evaporator not touching the heater.

Possibly the thermal fuse is to near the defrost heater or the defrost sensor faulty.

It is better to have it checked professionally.

It will be cutting out because the cooling fan is not working or the overheating safety cut out is faulty.

Disconnect the water supply at the bottom of the door put the pipe that feeds water to the door in a cup and try to dispense water from the dispenser.

If no water comes out of the pipe then it will be frozen in the precooler or the solenoid fauty.

If water comes out of the pipe then it may be frozen in the door.

£45 for a call in London and not asking about payment if the tenant is paying on the visit or does he have to invoice the landlord.

He should have known the answer before he had visited.

If he invoiced the landlord he should have spoken to him first to get authority before commencing the repair.

He must be a high risk driver to pay £1,400 for van insurance and at £45 pounds a job that is a lot of jobs you have to do just to cover the insurance without taking into account fuel etc.

If he had a good accountant he would have advised him of a more realistic call charge and customers I find are willing to pay at least another Thirty pounds more once they hear how much manufacturers charge.

Some things like customer service a lot of engineers should take notice of as a good reputation & service leads to a lot more work.

He also gives a good service by carrying a good van stock and first time hit rate but I am sure if he does not have the parts on the van it sounds like he try’s to persuade the customer it is BER to avoid a return visit.

Some good points and some bad points but I think he represents the poor training and lack of manufactures engineers knowledge of how business and product information cost the customers and small repairers.

I think he makes a good point a lot of engineers should take note of
to mega or PAT test the appliance before and after a repair.

Like a lot of engineers he only looks to repair the general faults but when it comes to the less common faults it’s BER but at least the customer are not paying a manufacturers inflated call out.

Yes and that can happen even if it is unplugged from the mains if you do not discharge the capacitor.

But it is ok for a second person to fix it if the first one has been electrocuted as this would have discharged the capacitor 😀 .

That’s if it has not been plugged in again to the mains to charge the capacitor again.

The heater shown in the shop is without the fixing plate.

If you phone on Monday they should be able to supply the heater compleate with fixing plate.

Or you could try R600a Brian at http://www.ffrservices.co.uk

The part number depends on where you order it from.

The part you require is available it comes with a new drain heater.

The part is called a Defrost Drain Heater compleate with fixing plate.

Try the whitgoods shop on this site.
