It points to it being iced up defrost for 48 hours with the doors open.
If the problem returns again in three to 4 weeks then she will have a fault on the defrost system.

Test the fridge air sensor to see if you can get a reading on your multi meter. Double check the fridge evaporator sensor.
Normally you would get a fault code on the display with a fault but check. All the fans are working freezer fan motor, fridge fan motor and compressor fan motor.
Make sure all external pipework is now clear of fluff.
If the compressor gets hot you could also have a refrigerant fault but this is rare on a RS21

Perhaps the jobs worth thought he was delivering a Hotpoint / Whirlpool Tumble Dryer.
The councils now try everything they can now to fundraise. 😀The police are just the same.
A few years ago I was pulled over as one of my brake lights was not working I was pulled over by the police officer on a busy duel carriageway and I said to him it was working this morning and I carry spare bulbs to replace it.
He still gave me a £30 fixed penalty fine.
I said to him without looking are your brake lights working and he said he checked them when he started the shift and I said a bulb can blow at any time and made him check his brake lights.
Unfortunately his brake lights worked ok but I did point out he had to check as he could not confirm they worked until he checked.
He then told me I could go but I said if I drive away then I am committing an offence as I now know the brake light was not working.
I said to him I am stopped in a dangerous position and he will have to stay until I change the light bulb.
he was not amused and his passenger a lower ranked officer smiled.
They then had to explain as a call came in for them that they could not attend as a van driver needed them to stay for safety reasons until he had repaired his van.
I wonder if that made him think twice before pulling over someone with a faulty brake light bulb and giving them a ticket instead of a warning.

Is the photo before you replaced the heater as this photo shows the old defrost heater.
If you took off the light panel at the top did you plug the air sensor back in ok.
Check the fan in the fridge is working. You can check this buy pressing and holding the light switch.
The fans have a delay it takes thirty to sixty seconds for the fans to cut in and as the insulation on the cover at the bottom does not look in that good a condition the fan may be jammed with ice.

If it is a frost free model the fan may be catching against ice that has not defrosted.
Get someone to look after your food then try a 48 hour defrost.
Turn it off and leave the doors open for 48 hours / 2 Days then it should be ok when you turn it back on.
It will take about 4 to 6 hours to get back to normal working temperature.

Yes that’s the part.
When you fit it make sure the thermal fuse does not touch the heater.
The thermal fuse is the one with the black & red wires and is wrapped in white foam.
The thermal fuse fits on the right near the bottom between the evaporator coils and has a small gap from the heater, but if it touches the heater you risk blowing the fuse and the heater / Defrost will not work if the fuse blows.

If you want the cheapest route then you can change just the heater.
As it runs for awhile before tripping this points to a defrost problem and as it is now frosting over then it shows it is a defrost fault.
Water has most likely entered the defrost heater when it was turned off for transporting so it has shorted out the heater.

It points to the defrost heater being the most likely fault.

Fridge evap sensor or low on Gas is the only 2 possible problems.
If the fridge evaporator is freezing evenly over the wet wall then the sensor is the problem.
If the fridge evaporator is only freezing near the top then it’s low on Gas.

If you turn the power off for 15 minutes then when you turn it back on if it has not reset then it will need the pcb to be configured or the pcb is faulty.
Hotpoint has the software to program the pcb and even if you purchase a new pcb that will have to be configured by Hotpoint.

You will get more luck if you use the pnc number as most are made by Electrolux / Zanussi

My first experience of computers was when I purchased 2 Comodore 64 computers for my kids for Christmas.
I had to sit up all night to find out how to use them on Christmas Eve as you had to use computer code and it took days to write programs for them.
Now you have programs to write the codes for you this includes programs for hacking.
It just takes one person to press the key to set the malicious program in motion and you can infect millions of appliances.
How many engineers are out there to replace motherboards if the manufactures are not able to update the systems like you do with your computer or how many can you install internet security to ?
At the moment all the fridge freezers I have come across has no means of installing virus software and as it is on your IP address then this could effect other connected appliances.
I have not seen the latest Samsung’s but the older Various manufactures trial appliances did not last long due to software problems.
You could end up with a large delivery of food you never ordered or your fridge could just be programmed to turn off with the loss of the contents.
Even the Tesla electric cars have had problems with hackers and this is a one hundred thousand pound item so what chance have you got with a four thousand pound appliance.
I like gadgets but I cannot see the point of internet connected appliances until you have robots with AI to load or unload them and hope we do not end up with a terminator in the home.

It should be ok if you get a replacement fridge freezer as it did sound like a fan motor fault.

But will it send you a message that it’s on fire or just say the program is finished ?.
Whirlpool have been advising customers that an appliance is safe to use but not to be left unattended so why are manufacturers going down the route of remotely controlling them.
All this is doing is adding another risk to any householders of fires in the home and in a lot of cases only the kids will know how to use it.
