ParticipantRe: Fridge too cold motor running constantly
If it is frosting near the top and not even over the wet wall inside the fridge it could also be low on Gas.
It would not be cooling down enough at the bottom of the fridge evaporator to turn the stat off.
This would then lead to it running all the time and it getting too cold in the fridge.

Yes the new black sensor is more reliable and it is better to replace it at the same time.
The thermal fuse in the freezer is the most common fault and when you replace it just make sure it is not touching the heater.

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool to do a recall on Hotpoint dryers
I cannot understand why any independents would want to do this mod work.
It’s always been in this trade last person to work on the appliance is responsible to make sure the appliance is safe.
As it is unknown if this mod works and anything happens after you have worked on it you will have to prove you carried out the mod correctly.
I am sure Whirlpool will not back you.
To carry out the mod is not a quick repair if you do it correctly and if anybody thinks that they can get rich quick by not carrying out the mod correctly must be living in cuckoo land.
This is the reason I did not get involved especially at the rates offered.

You can only tell by testing with a meter.
Most likely the freezer section faulty.

ParticipantRe: Samsung SR-L629EVSS locked in defrost mode
It will be a defrost system fault,
Thermal fuse or Defrost Sensor or Defrost heater.
Most likely on this model to be defrost sensor or thermal fuse.Bob

ParticipantRe: Daewoo American FFs no plumbing required
The tank is in the fridge door and it is fitted with a pump at the rear behind the panel at the bottom on the right hand side.
They should have gone for a different model if they did not want to keep filling it up as you cannot connect it to a water supply.

ParticipantRe: LG 207TUJA intermittent beeping
It’s on the main PCB but only sounds for a reason.
Try the 2 day 48 hour defrost first this should cure the buzzer noise.

ParticipantRe: LG 207TUJA intermittent beeping
This model is an American style and unlikely to be a magnet / door out of alignment fault.

ParticipantRe: LG 207TUJA intermittent beeping
The beeping is there for a reason.
If it’s beeping then it’s not cold enough.
Try taking your food out and get somebody to look after it then turn it off and leave the doors open for 48 Hours / 2 Days.
This should clear ice build up on the freezer evaporator and it should solve the beeping problem when you turn it back on.

ParticipantRe: Could this be a leaking fridge
Check the drain inside the fridge to see if it is blocked.
You can use a small Phillips screwdriver to check it’s clear. If the leak is due to the tray on top the compressor over flowing then the compressor may not be getting hot enough to evaporate the water.
This is normally due to the ambiant temperature or moisture in the air.
If it is over flowing you can put a piece of Oasis block in the tray to improve the evaporation of the water.

What’s wrong with useing a stone down by the river.
Just ask Bear Grylls.
Cheaper and you don’t have to carry it with you.

ParticipantRe: Hotpoint STF200WP fridge freezer not cold
You may not have defrosted for long enough.
You need to turn it off for 48 hours / 2 Days with the doors open to allow it to fully defrost.
This should cure the problem if not let me know and I will advise

ParticipantRe: BECO Model TFF673APW Freezer iced up
If it was a defrost heater it would be like a lot of snow type ice.
If it is like solid ice in one corner or across part of the evaporator then it is more likely to be low on refrigerant due to a leak.

ParticipantRe: Fridge-freezer miraculous resurrection
There should be no movement in the wet wall so if there is movement it could be easy to miss diagnose the fault.
As long as there is not a lot of movement it may not cause a problem.
If a lot of ice forms in the fridge section / big ball of ice in one spot or it stops cooling then it would not be able to be repaired.
If it freezes up in the freezer after a short time it would be the defrost heater or defrost sensor faulty

ParticipantRe: BECO Model TFF673APW Freezer iced up
It sounds like it has lost some of the refrigerant that is why it is making the noise and only freezing on the corner of the evaporator.
Or the compressor may not be pumping correctlyBob
