There is a small magnet on the motor to stop it in the correct position.

Sometimes the magnet can fall off and needs refitting with glue.

Not a cheep repair as it sounds like the compressor has seized.

Don’t be surprised if the fixed price repairer says it is not repairable even if it is fixable due to the cost and work involved.

The most common problems are frost free appliances not defrosting.

Less common to have system problems but now getting harder to check systems with inverter compressors etc.

Damaged not a fault caused by cooking.

As Frank Carson said What a cracker.

They must be joking if they think you will fall for that one.

If you have power to the element then you will need to test the new element to check it is not faulty.

If the clock was faulty then the fan would not work.

I would phone around the local collages as a lot of them run refrigeration courses.
The course will only cover refrigeration systems and safe handling.
The trouble with modern domestics is it takes along time to gain experience of faults and testing and how manufacturers assemble and hide fixings to take them apart.
There is no collage course to teach that.

It sounds like you have lost the gas or the compressor seals have blown not a cheap or DIY repair.

    A VT9 thermostat is a fridge stat.
If it has two stats 1 for the fridge and 1 for the freezer then I would try a Whirlpool universal freezer stat.

This would be a Whirlpool W6 thermostat kit.

    I use steel toecap trainers.

I never take my shoes off but carry disposable shoe protectors.

Some houses I have been to you need to wipe your feet on the way out.

It’s sounds like it has lost the refrigerant due to a leak probably caused by rust in the pipe work as it has been in the garage and not used.

Not a DIY job or cheap repair.

You will probably need the production/pnc number to obtain the part if it is available.

    Re: Smeg built in fridge

Most likely the drain tube is blocked as it will overflow on the small channel from the main drain channel you will have to remove the fridge from the unit then remove the drain pipe to clear the blockage.

What was the reason for fitting a new pcb ?

Normaly if it will not except the code you use 05 or 15

If it excepted the code it should be OK as it will not except a wrong code.

You need to check if the baffle motor between the fridge and freezer is working or if the fan is working ok.

It’s just someone trying to grab the work and make money from work that would have went to the local repairer anyway.

Why do work for someone when the work would most likely come to you.

It’s just lining someone else’s pocket, who has to do little work for the money.

You also do not have any guarantee you will get paid unless payment is paid upfront.

    Re: Bizzby.com

I just rechecked the e-mail and it said fixed price does not include parts.

Perhaps they are making it up as they go along and then you may have problems with payments.
