2 calls Monday but I did not answer the phone to them.
1 call today I just told them I am not interested.
If they cannot get anyone in the area to cover the call
I normally get a call direct from the customer telling me they have been let down by go local and can I repair there appliance.

Just been asked by go local if I can repair an American type Samsung.
This is the third time I have been contacted by them to Carry out repairs.
The first 2 I told them my call out charge and they hung up.
This time they said they could work with that but I suppose they can if they don’t pay up.
I said I understand a lot of agents have had problems with payments.
The reply was only the unprofessional ones.
I declined the job as I can do without the hassle of chasing payments.
I had a customer before Christmas who booked a call with them 2 weeks before the visit date, And he had booked a days Holiday for the visit.
The Day before he was told the visit was cancelled and would have to be rebooked for after Christmas.
He told them not to bother and send back his money.
I do not know if he has had his money back yet.
I repaired it same day 9pm at night So he had a fridge for Christmas as it was Friday 21st and I was not working the weekend or Christmas Eve

ParticipantRe: Miele kfn 1924sd fridge freezer help please
As the fridge is only 3 years old I would go with the Miele repair.
If the fridge is not repairable you would have a good case for a contribution towards a new appliance as it has not reached its expected life for a Miele.

ParticipantRe: things a bit slow
I have been lucky and been busy the last few months.
It has slowed down a bit this week but still busy for this time of year.
I do not do free call outs and never will as the cost of fuel etc has to be paid somehow.
I charge £60 plus vat for a call out but this has stayed the same for the last 6 years.
The trouble is I cannot increase the call out in the present conditions.
But this is still a lot cheaper than the big boys.

ParticipantRe: Whats the most annoying thing customers do?
I phoned a customer Thursday night to arrange a visit to fit a defrost heater I had ordered for them. The visit was important before the fridge frost up again.
The customer said great his wife has taken the day off work on Friday for a plumber to call to fix the heating and a carpet fitter to fit a carpet.
I advised if I had a problem getting to them with the weather conditions I would phone him.
I drove 30 miles in the bad snow to get to them and found the plumber and carpet fitter waiting out side and both just going to leave as they had been waiting an hour to gain access.
I left a visit card and left at the same time as the plumber and carpet fitter who had both got stuck in snow and had to dig them selves out.
I had a phone call from the wife about 3 hours later to say sorry she had gone out with the kids because she did not think anyone would call because of the weather conditions and the schools were closed.
I asked her if she thought no one would turn up a phone call to check if I was coming would have been good.
She replied there is no need to be sarcastic and put the phone down.
I had a call from the customers husband tonight apologising for his wife and called her a silly cow.
He has arranged a new visit for next Friday but he said he will take the day off and he also said he would pay me for an additional visit as he was pleased I had made the effort to visit.
So it was not all in vain.

ParticipantRe: howdens fr fr hja6100 e8 fault
Beko are normally easy to work on.
If the fridge is not cooling it will be the fan faulty.
On top the fridge near the main module is normally a sticker with the fault codes.
But on this model most of the time the codes do not match the fault.
This model sometimes shows a fan fault as 8 as it is not cold enough for the ice maker.
You have to remove the ice maker to replace a fan but this is not difficult .
The fan is in the freezer compartment and you can check if its working by pressing the door switch in the freezer. Make sure you have the fridge door closed.
The fan has a short delay 10 to 30 seconds if the compressor is running,
If it does not run after 60 seconds then the fan will be faulty.
I have repaired a few of this model and it is nearly always a fan fault.
I have also had a couple with module faults the appliance is normally no go if the module fails.

ParticipantRe: Whirlpool FF Requires Constant ‘Reboot’
A wiring diagram will not help as you need to test the parts separately .
All the parts heater etc are all plug in parts.
Whirlpool parts are not cheep e.g. Heaters £80 to £90 plus. Vat.
So it is best to get an Engineer to test it.
Also you need to go carefully in case you damage the evaporator or your fingers when changing heaters.

The defrost system has a fault .
You will need an engineer to test the defrost system.
The defrost heater is not warming the unit to restart the appliance.
That is why you have to turn it off to restart it.
Most likely a heater or NTC fault.
It is not cooling as it will be iced up.Bob

2 jobs from them fast payment.
American fridge freezers both transit faults good quality so may not get high volumes of work.
Good company to deal with

As Brian said sometimes the liner can blow on this model so worth checking.
The gas will be R134a
If the liner is blown in the fridge then it is not repairable

Did you connect the wires up correct and was it the same type of Thermostat
If you turn the stat to o and the compressor still runs then the stat is wired wrong.
Have you pushed the capillary tube on the stat in fully.
Or have you kinked the capillary tube if the tube has kinked this will also cause a problem.

This is a Thermostat or low on refrigerant fault you will need an engineer to check .
Try the find me an engineer search.
This was an MFI appliance and spares are available from AWS.
