Re: Best make of van for the job (all rounder)

I have a Ford Transit Sport it is like a car to drive It has a heated windscreen, heated leather seat, electric windows and mirrors, electronic stability program, traction control, cruse control, low profile alloy wheels and tyres 6 disc radio cd player etc etc. Downside is the cost of tyres and low mileage out of tyres.

It still would not be as good as your van in the snow, but is still good compaired to your 4 x 4.

    I have a 4 x 4 as back up for snow.

Ford now do a 4 X 4 Transit not as good a drive as the sport but still a nice van.

Re: RS21DCNS freezer fan doesnt run

I have repaired a couple with this fault and it has been the fridge air sensor at fault . The air sensor is fitted behind the blue cover.
So if the fan is not at fault try the air sensor.

You need to check if the door has droped a bit as it may not be turning off the internal light switch.
You may find that the internal light is not on or working intermitantly
If you are unable to adjust the door your self if this is the problem you can try sticking a penny on top of the door so it turns the switch off.

If you can get someone to look after your food.
Turn the fridge freezer off for 48 hours with the doors open to allow it to defrost.
If this cures the fault and the fault returns within a couple of months then you have a fault with the defrost system and you will need an engineer to repair it.

Re: cold water dispenser not working

If the problem returns with the fridge set at 4 deg, you will need an engineer to look at the defrost system in the fridge, as it might be building up ice near the fan motor or drain heater.
Or you can get someone to look after your food and try turning the fridge freezer off with the doors open for 48 hours.
This would solve the problem for a few months.

The precooling pipes or s type precooler in the bottom of the fridge compartment may be frozen.
Try warming them with a hair dryer but keep it moving not on one spot and get someone to try to dispence water at the same time.
If this clears it, dispence about 8 pints of water to melt any remaing ice in the pipes.
Then set the fridge temperature to 4 deg

    Re: Fridgemaster MTRF322 faulty

It may have lost the gas or the system may be blocked.
It may also be the compressor faulty.
This is not a DIY repair and is not cheep to repair.

    Re: Set up

The compressor tested ok before I refitted the relay.
When I megga tested it showed an earth fault.
The earth wire was off on the stat and touching the live terminal on the stat hence the earth fault.
I tested the appliance before connecting it to the mains supply if I had it would have tripped the mains.
As you pointed out this fault would not have shown up if it had not been touching anything.
I am convinced this was a set up

    Re: Set up

I called on a customer a few years ago, The customer was asking lots of Questions.
The fault was appliance not cooling.
The relay was off the compressor but the relay cover was inplace so it had not been pulled of by the mains lead.
I megga tested the fridge/freezer and it failed the mega test.
I eventuly found an earth wire off the thermostat and this also was not a normal fault.
With the questions asked I was sure it was a setup.
As the old lady would not know the sort of questions she was asking unless she was an engineer.
I did not here anything after but always wondered if it was a setup and if it was used in any program. 😕

I was informed about a month ago the payment would be 0.25 and £35 pound payment good job I did not spend it first.
    Still its better than nothing.
I might put it on the Lottery as it was a Lottery if we got paid.
