ParticipantRe: Creda 48343 wiring
One happy customer, although I was unable to get her top oven working. The pratt who did all the damage had broken the connections on the oven stat switch.
Still she has all else working ok
Thanks Jim

ParticipantRe: hotpoint sdd910
thanks for the info. Problem is, if it doesnt do it while you are there and all tests ok. You have to go for board or motor and as both are expensive I cannot afford to get it wrong.
I will be going back on Sat so will let you know.
Thanks again

It darned well should be, its a very common fault on this ‘quality’ appliance. :rolls:A11..Wash pump faulty or wiring / connections between pump motor
and module faulty.Jim.
I have the same fault, never seen it before.
You mention it being a common fault, can you tell me what causes it.
You say its motor or maybe wiring. Can you say what is more common? Thanks

Seem to recall I had this some time ago, could be brushes. Then you need to reset the board as the fault indication stays on.
Do a search here for how to reset the board.
Hope it helps

ParticipantRe: Creda 37373 Dryer
Yes , thats my point Jim..
It is a simple induction motor, set poles so speed is set with the mains frequency. But trust me the speed the drum rotates at is way to fast. With clothes not tumbling. They stick to drum?
I have been in touch with Masterpart but the tech guy said that this motor is correct and to be fair, all other suppliers have this as the correct motor.
Going to try and get the exact speed of the drum rotation on Monday.
Might even video it

Hi Jim
Appreciate it.
I have never had to check this before, first time for everything.Looking at the shafts, it doesn’t look much different but I am sure the ratio must me such that the drum rotates to fast.
The dryer is mine now but its going to bug me
Oh, and as I have paid for the motor its cost meThanks

Will get exact speed on Monday (takes me back a bit the 15 second count)but from experience its way to fast, its as fast as if not faster than distribute speen on an automatic.
Like clockworkone I think the motor shaft is to big.
I have taken a picture of the two motors, how can I post them here(I am sure that its been explained somewhere but humour me?).Thanks again for taking the time to help

ParticipantRe: Creda 37373 Dryer
cheers johnny,, yes it’s the drum speed being the problem.. If I find out will let you know. I have come to a deal with my customer, which gives me the dryer to find out why its going to fast!!
This is why I ask advice, 30years you have a vast amount of knowledge for we who dont have that amount.
If you can come up with anything, please let me knowThanks Brian

ParticipantRe: Creda 37373 Dryer
cant see how wiring it could increase the speed. Decreasing the poles or changing the frequency are the only two ways I know of to alter speed on an induction motor. Surely the size of pulley/drum size will alter the speed? The speed is way to quick, the clothes stick to drum like dist speed.
Thanks for taking the time to helpBrian
