Re: Belling IDW604 thermostat switch defective?

When you say this runs for 2 hours does it heat & at the end what fault code if any is displayed??
The device you describe is a thermistor which gives a reading back to the electronic p.c.b of the temperature, it doesn’t trip or switch but gives different readings depending on temp’ sensed.

Sorry but i’ve no info on eror codes, most Hobs & Ovens give a fault code when you renew power to them which actually means power has been disrupted. If its giving trouble, check the components & connections. Fan run on p.c.b on these have been known to be problematic, also the selector switch contacts overheat, even the lamp units short circuit blowing tripswitch.

They do, they produce technical information for all their appliances, but they’re not available to the general public.

Maximum permitted air temp’ (180c) has been reached & it flashes “clean out airways”. Mostly caused by blocked condenser but i’m sure you’ve checked airways. Check the heater bank NTC & cabling from it to P.C.B. NTC sensor at room temp’ 25c shoud be approx’ 100k.

Negative temperature coefficient NTC, its a thermistor, a device for measuring temperature.

Likely not enough water to get the high pressure switch to recognise it, if you allow it to start, open the door & throw in a pint or so of water just to see will the extra water be enough to make the presure switch. If this works you will have to look at inlet filters etc . When circulation pump starts it should put up enough pressure to make the high level pressure switch come on & stay on, this can be either due to not filling with enough water in time or thet impellor of circulation pump is fouled by blockage of some kind.

When you turn it off with on/off button & turn knob to finish does it go down to finish l.e.d? Sounds like you have gone into either programming or service mode.

More likely an NTC fault or cable issue in door loom.

If you look down from above you should see a little window which shows the position. Its driving to reach a position selected for the type of wash. Motor will drive to that position & when it makes the switch for the required position it should send a signal to say its reached requested position & take in water. There may be a fault with the gear or motor driving mechanism if its not turning correctly.

Depending on how competant you are, its a bottom plate removal job to check for a leak thats causing the float switch in the base to be activated. Power off before attempting any repairs of course. It will continue to run the drain pump so long as there is water in the base.

Alright Love 😉 Liebherr do a Stainless Fridge UKU1850 & Freezer GG1550 with a stacking kit, but they tend to be expensive, might be an idea to get a kitchen guy to do you a shelf for you which would take the weight.
