Re: Hotpoint top loader 9605 pump question.

I fitted a non geniune Hotpoint top loader pump from qualtex just the other day, it had an aluminium pulley £8.00 + vat i think.

    Re: Hoover auto HC6 130M

Checked connections all ok. I do have a couple of second hand modules that look the same as the original (dont know how interchangeable these modules are though, difficult to assess as they all look alike with little in the way of identification) 😯
Nevertheless tried them on the machine, 😕 didn’t blow fuses (always a good sign!) but same fault occurs… m/c dead until I activate the pressure stat.
Then pump runs & door interlock locks but nothing else happens (cant believe all three modules have the same fault! – so assuming there interchangeable? – this more or less discounts the module!) Unless someone knows different of course 😳

This machine is driving me crazy 😈 Please help!!!

Once found a gold ring in a pump, when i handed back to the customer she said they were real diamonds and she had already claimed on the insurance for it 😯

Re: How long in the trade?

I can even remember some of the old characters we had as customers. One guy, Percy Clough – kept coal in his bath and used the formica work top on the twin tub as a table. Judging by the smell, he had little other use for the bath! When we serviced the machine, we’d disinfect it first then leave it out in the back yard overnight, before working on it next day.

Renting was not a glamorous way of making a living!

I remember those Hotpoint 1600’s the wiring on those machines was thin to say the least – good machine though! Didn’t the door also shut flush on that model.

Who remembers old favourites like – wash dogs, 3174’s & ordering ocv’s & resillient mounts on a regular basis?

At one point my father had nearly 300 Hoover twin tubs out on rental. But that was when washing machines were built to last, not a micro chip in sight!

    Re: AEG d/w 911825059

Just thought i give an up-date on this problem in case engineers come across it in the future.
This aeg is really a zanussi in disguise & like most zanussi d/washers it is proned to getting blocked up with food deposits.
When I realised this just removed the cap under the lift off screen, cleaned the two breathing tubes & hey presto! its cured 😀

Thought i’d let anyone interested know.
    Brian.
