Re: Beko wma1512w clothes coming out hot

    Hi Guys,

Yes this is a hot and cold fill machine ! went back today and replaced pcb (just resoldered some dry joints last night as it was easy to access pcb to take home ,agree don’t think pcb was issue ) Put it on a 40c wash (same as customer) worked fine ,used clamp meter and extension lead trick that Martin so kindly added to this site 😉 heater kicked in and was drawing just over 9 amps then switched off after it heated.

Like i said yesterday ,i checked and double checked hoses and pipe work incase anybody had touched them ,But all ok.

Only thing i can think of is it is a ground floor flat ,could the cold water supply have had a low pressure at some point from mains? Boiler is in a cubby hall in kitchen and is only about 3ft from ground as well, she says it only happened the one time and she rang me cause she thought clothes were hot at finish .

Did not change thermistor as i thought that 4k was ok ..So basically it was a wierd fault that happened.Told her to give me a ring if it happens again. 😐

    Hi Mike,

I have had success with Araldite Rapid Steel with cracked magnets ,not tried it with fully broken in half ones though.

Shaun p.s if used it needs about 24hr to set .

Re: Has anyone heard of The Appliance Academy

Just like to add that i attended the CK1 electric cooker course last week .
I must say it was very informative and i would not have learned what i learned on the course any where else .

John started by going through all the health and safety aspects and test equipment of working with electricity and explained all the workings of how a cooker operates ,this was repeated over and over again before he would let us go near any of the cookers !

We were also shown how to install standalone cookers ,built in cookers and hobs etc and how to dismantle them for fault finding.

Once John was satisfied we all fully understood the safety procedures he let us look at some raw appliances that may or may not have faults .For me this was really good because we now were going to do our safety checks and try to discover the faults if any were evident.

Yes we actaully found a couple of faults and actually got the appliances back up and running.

The course layout is fantastic ,the building is really big and John has seperate work areas .One room is for cookers ,one for refridgeration and one for laundry appliances i.e washing machines, dryers and dishwashers ..What i really liked about the laundry course is that John has the washing machines/dryers etc ready for the engineer to connect to the exsisting water supply right round the room , the engineer gets to see the machines fully working after they have been repaired .

Also John says he starts from scratch showing wash cycles and explaining how you can see where problems arise at certain points of the cycle ..All the courses include safety and fault finding teqniques as well as how to test machines safely and with the right test equipment,

This is good because some people don’t even know how a wash cycle works when learning to be an engineer..(must admit i never used a washing machine before i went to the Dixon training course lol).

Anyway overall i was very impressed what John is doing down there in Harlow ,reminded me of my Dixon training course ..so a big thumbs up from me ..

Will be doing the refridgeration course once John gets that going ,John was on the look out for a refrigeration guy to teach the course and be able to give the right accreditation and safe handling of refridgeration ,lots going on in the pipe lines for John at the moment.

A bit long winded but thought i’d share my experiance.

Seamy wrote:Normally if the felt has gone it leaves a nasty sticky residue on the front of drum, also if it has cut through the bearing slides theres plastic burn’t onto drum lip. If this is not removed or cleaned off the drum, it will catch on new felt & break belts again. New appliances now have a sewn joint in the felt & a more rounded front edge on drum, the belt has a tensioner on motor to prevent snapping belts.

Thanks for that info as well Seamy 😀 Hopefully the belt i fitted has done the job (well at least for now it has )

Thanks for that info washtronics, as nobody else replied 😥

But at least i know now though 😉

    Jim.

I had to use a hammer to get them bloody clips back on the motor bracket on a white knight dryer ..took me longer to get them on than to strip it all down and clean everything in sight 🙂

    Re: Beko baffler???

Tacho magnets on these are weak ,seen quite a few that are cracked ..Have had some success using araldite rapid steel if cracks are not too big.

But as Seamy said ,you already checked tacho ..
