Like Dave says, give the Electrode a good wipe, for the cost we usually send an engineer with a new electrode part number 10000304 less than £10

Thanks Ken, its good to know, even though we work the job everyday its hard to keep up with the growing list of recalls, its a worry…. we do ask for the model from customers whilst booking the repair, maybe a full recall model list could be dumped into a word file and CTRL-F the model….

Thanks Dave yes the customer says it get very very hot but you would think the overheat stat would switch that off, and yes that matches the pcb thanks for that number…

And Jem i used to keep lots of small pcb components but im not sure if the customer would wait for me to find the correct relay and order one, thanks for your tip, may look into getting some ready in future….

    Thanks again guys

    Hi Dave,

I never anticipated it would make a difference per model or range of Hotpoints, i will get a few examples of the models were struggling with at the moment tomorrow, they all behave in the same way, drain intermittently then the feed stops to the pump, they throws up f05, continuity across the pumps, absolutely no blockages… iv even swapped the pumps thinking the impellor might be sticking….

    Thanks

Thanks Don, they have already signed us up for a trade account for spares, here the rates are higher than retail sales on the net, the descriptions of parts within their online catalogue have wording that seems to be focused towards retails, for example; ‘if you oven is not heating’ …. they pestered us for weeks to open an account but why on earth they would attempt to sell to trade at higher rates than public is beyond me, anyway they seem a bit backward with all these rules, my property has good access and my garages are bigger than most shops, but thanks again for the other names im really hoping we can start to get a steady stream of appliances, thanks again…..

Hi Don, and thanks for the recommendations, i will certainly try those, i wasn’t aware AO did trade, Whirlpool offered to open a trade account for us, as im field based only, i currently work from my double garage when needed, they have informed me that they will not drop to any residential addresses only business addresses, they will drop but each item has a delivery charge?, not sure what all that fuss is about as i can fit a wagon full in my garage stacked high if need be, not sure on the rates yet as we have to open an account first to check the rates …… Simonb
