So im right in guessing its the timer advance motor at fault here then?
just by chance another customer this week has same machine same fault only lives on next street to other customer, what ever its got its catching

and its getting spooky only last week i called to an address, knocked on the door and no answer 😡 so i left a note, anyway it was my error somehow my computer had printed off the right road but incorrect house number, the customer who’s house i posted into telephoned me to call back later that day if poss as her washer has just broke down that morning

If i remember my college training, its when the resistance reduces as the temperature rises, as can be important info for testing and positive temp co..is the opposite would you believe the resistance increases as temp rises.

    Re: Hoover softwave

so if its the 30degree stat the pause after 1.5 min would be to heat the water, as its not closing to impulse timer, there would normally be a static boil but the 60/90 must be opening up to break heater after a while,

so in theory as a test the water should be heating up first then stops after 60/90 cuts out? to diagnose 30 stat failure?

maybe ill just change both stats as its prob going to be the fault as the timer motor is ok.

    Re: Hoover softwave

Went back check heater its fine, pressure vessel clear,
not too sure on configeration for stats,
2 of off two the right hand side, big chucky stats,
first stat on left was open circuit, i imagine this impulses timer?
second stat to the right of the other was closed circuit

like i said in first post, it fills up, washes for about a min, then packs up
static, if you move timer on 1 notch it goes right through fine(so customer says)
after i come away i though of bridging the open stat out to see if it goes through ok?

might have to take this one away,

Re: Looking to buy a a Pocket PC or Smartphone?

hey was just looking through the threads and came upon i wrote a while back i ended up with a htc s710 through bt, i ordered 2 of them as the calls to any bt mobile are free of charge 😆 anyway this has windows 6 and iv solved my problem of not having a pen and paper handy when im out and about it has voice recorder included 😛 also has slide out quert keyboard for text and email, i have all my emails sent to the phone and also if anyone is interested as im a 1 man band and taking calls from a landline is difficult i have perminant call divert set up with bt to the mobile and capped at 25 p, most calls i think are only costling about 10p, (1 plan)not bad really as most calls i get are a booking for work.
its a lovely little gadget i play with it all day long 😳 also has a calander with reminders day before and gprs, although not got round to using it yet,
