    Re: Miele T5213 Dryer

I got the part number when I phoned Miele today 2631162. I then asked for some technical info about the machine, and they basically told me to pi$$ off because I am not an authorised dealer.

What a terrible way to treat someone when they are willing to take my £78.00 for the part, and not give any support.

I am not sure about your one, but as with others I have seen, the drain runs while the machine washes and rinses. As long as the stand pipe is in place this is normal. HTH

A few years ago I went to a Miele commercial dishwasher on a ship. I switched off the main switch to work on the machine, but I got a big shock. It turned out that the machine had 2 live supplies to it via 2 double pole switches. The 2nd live supply was for the heaters.

I dont work on ships any more

The last one I got was from Panks Pumps of Norwich, who are a local agent, with a trade discount it cost me £156.00 inc vat. The flow switch version, i.e. RGFL250 is about £40.00 extra.

    🙂

Why not replace the pump yourself and make some dosh. I always use a Stuart RG250 and have no problems http://www.kgnpillinger.co.uk/_assets/documents/180.pdf

If you dont want to wire it to the machine, then use the same one but with a flow switch.

    Re: Zan ZDQ695X – Earth Fault…

I had a cooker blowing the main fuse (yes fuse) because of a faulty lamp holder. It also took out the thermostat (the internal switch which feeds the lamp and fan). After fitting a new thermostat I tested it without a lamp and it was fine. I put in a new lamp amd bang the fault was there.

So I would test a lamp holder with it disconnected and a new lamp fitted

Thanks for the reply. Since my post I went and replaced the diaphram switch, and it seems to be working (no error code), except now the askoll type wash pump is noisy and knacked. I will go back to fit a new pump, and do what you suggested. Thanks again

To clean the back of the condenser housing it’s easy to do it with the side panel removed. Much better than lying on the floor.

    Thanks jess1ca

A strange set up. So are you saying it’s not worth taking on jobs for the hassle involved?

Are you saying they charge the repairer for spares, (instead of sending them FOC ), so they can then be charged back with a mark up?

    Re: JTM again!

Had a phone call today from JTM asking me to do work for them. Did a search and found this thread. After reading it I don’t know weather to say yes or no. Are things still as bad doing work for them, or has it got any better?

I think the new motors are smaller, and you have to fit a larger rubber mount to make it fit.

    Re: times are hard

Today I had a call from some guy who had bought a new washing machine, and would I like to purchase his old one. So I said I would collect it, but he would have to pay me to take it. That shut him up
