    Re: Oven manual wanted

Hi Cooker-Doctor: They’ve just moved into a flat with the cooker already there so would’nt know where it was bought.

HJDing: If you take a look at: http://www.whitewestinghouse.com or http://www.kitchen.manualsonline .com you should be able to find a user manual for it.

I was replying to / querying this bit of your post, which seems to say that you think the NTC is causing it to trip.

Did you check the wiring in the door ? it may not be anything to do with the actual temperature it’s getting to.

Hey Twick don’t knock yourself, your using what your used to & fixing appliances. It does’nt really do anything you can’t do with a Multimeter, except for testing Dead which you should’nt really use a Multimeter for. But for me i’m so used to using it that it just speeds things up a little bit, not so important on Domestic but when your in the middle of a Commercial kitchen or in a Meat plant where it’s costing them money then every little bit helps.

If you just want a basic clamp meter for appliances, they’ve got 1 on the bay. Item number 330811136387 at £7.99

Re: R11 Resistor value of Retro Servis electra e7316c f/f PC

Hi: Are you sure it’s Brown / Blue / Brown ? if it is then it’s a 160 ohm resistor & looks to be 2 or 3 watt Metal oxide, if you take it to your local Maplins they should be able to match it from stock.
If you want to check the Grey Polyester cap, unsolder it from the circuit & use the Capacitance range on your Multimeter. Have you checked the Diode at the side of R11 to make sure it’s not Leaky or S/C ?

The NTC can’t trip the RCD, it’s a Solid State sensor & only works on low voltage. What made you come to the conclusion that it was the NTC ?

Re: Nardi FEX0714 Electric Oven stopped heating up – grill w

Hi: Sounds like your oven element has blown. Before buying a new 1 you would need to check the element with a Multimeter or Megger to confirm that’s the problem. If you click on the store button at the top of the page, the nice people in the UKWG shop should be able to source the element for you at a good price.

Please Remember: Before you open the cooker, make sure that the power is turned off on the wall & preferably at the mains.

Re: Soft Rinse dispensed with soap or rinse water???

Just been talking to a friend who’s an LG service agent & he says that when adding softener it should be nowhere near the max line as it will cause self Syphoning of the liquid in the dispenser, the max line is the dispense line when water is added & not the measurement line for the softener. He suggests trying the machine with just 2 Tablespoons of softener & see what happens.

Hi: To be honest they’ve changed all the things that most of us would do in this situation. The only other thing I can think of is either Corrupted control software or a Faulty control board activating the system at the wrong point in the programme for some reason.

Ok I appreciate that, but would have thought they’d have noticed that they could open the door instantly before now when using the machine.

If you look at his second post, the door light went green & the wash cycle started and ran for a good time before the error showed up. He also points out that there’s no delay before he can open the door at the end of a cycle.

Re: 2 Pole Voltage / Continuity testers.

Hi mate: Just google Steinel Mastercheck 3.2, that’s the 1 I carry in my service kit. LED voltage indication up to 400v & continuity test up to 300k. Not specifically bought for appliance repair but good none the less, still carry my Analogue, Clamp, Digi & Megger etc so it doesn’t actually cut down on what I carry just speeds up basic Fault Finding a bit & ideal in dark places.
