Count yourself lucky, on the occasions that these boards do blow it’s normally a lot more serious than you experienced.

Hi: If you are concerned with the safety of the machine then I would not use it until it has been checked by an Engineer, the darkening of the Element & burning smell could possibly be due to the Element overheating.

There is a third stat above the door which can also fail, but you may well have a fault in the notorious Dryness module. As far as I know there is no one that repairs these modules & they are pretty expensive to replace £100 – £120 depending on where you buy.

Wonder how long before someone gets injured? hate to think what would happen to a child in front of 1 as it explodes.

Glad to hear it, what was the colour code on the valves after?
On the WT540, check the motor connector is seated properly, check motor brushes, check for breaks in the motor harness.Re: Bosch SGS43A52/35
Yep they can be replaced, can be done DIY but even easier if you have Hot Air re-work station 🙂
